Saffers in all sorts of trouble at stumps on day two. 7/138, Smith gone with a fractured finger (Johnson), Kallis needing stiches to a chin wound (Johnson) and old McDonald chipping in with 3 wickets

Just lost two hours of my life stuck in traffic  during which time the ABC relayed a few text messages that listeners had sent re the state of the test. All of them irate that Ponting hadn't enforced the 'follow-on' as if it had allowed South Africa back into the test match.  

People who clearly know nothing about cricket really should just STFU sometimes.  

 

..........And leave the learned cricket folk to make informed observations about the shortcomings in technique of left arm Australian fast bowlers

I applaud Ponting for deciding to bat. Bury the fuckers I say.
 
Why would he choose to bat last on this pitch, given the Australian middle order's tendancy to collpase?

OUT, Kallis gets the long-awaited breakthrough! Kallis lands it outside off and the ball holds its line, Katich tries to angle it wide of the slips but the ball flies off the outside edge and travels quickly to Katich at gully who takes it low to his left
 
Katich manages to edge it, race to gully and take a smart catch to dismiss himself
 
That'll take some beating.

Im so happy ponting batted on,i dont trust Australia chasing small targets,if South Africa happened to bat well in there 2nd innings and get a lead of 150+  i wouldnt be surprised to see us choke with our batting collapses lately
