Battle Forum VI is here and with it we bring you some new Gladiators. We can start with a personal friend of mind DDG9 who resides right here in Oregon in the Portland metro area. DDG9 has a high streak of 11 and just like the rest of us he's a true degenerate. But he's willing to put that Gladiator gear on and do his best in the Battle Forum. Centralflaguy is another Battle Forum newbie. He is a veteran on Covers and comes in with a high streak of 10 on Survivor. Centralflaguy has decided to put the Gladiator gear on and try his luck.

Of course we have the Battle Forum vets. TaylorsAllStars who surprised everyone in Battle Forum V when as a newbie he made it to the Quarterfinals where he lost to the eventual Champ Mondo. WBellhaven who is always a Battle Forum Powerhouse returns with revenge on his mind. You better watch out for WBellhaven. His luck ran out when he faced former Battle Forum Champ Masterone but WBellhaven has demonstrated that he is a Gladiator to be reckoned with. Grambus is back for another taste of victory. Grambus is the Gladiator that is one of the most dangerous. He's capable of going on extreme hot streaks. He's the least Gladiator you want to face when the head to head battles start. Grambus made it to the Semifinals in Battle Forum V now he has his eyes set on becoming Battle Forum Champion.

Crushalot, what can you say about this Battle Forum vet that hasn't been said. Crush is the Gladiator where no lead is safe. This current format for Battle Forum VI is right in his wheel house. He made it to Quarterfinals in the last Battle Forum and no doubt he's set on becoming the next Battle Forum Champ. Thedeakon is our friend North of the Border. He's a Battle Forum veteran and Powerhouse. The only reason Thedeakson isn't the Battle Forum Champ now is because he went against Mondo in the Semifinals. Thedeakon is a true Gladiator and one of the most feared Gladiators in the Battle Forum. You will have to bring your "A" game to take him down.

Masterone returns with revenge on his mind. He's the former Champ from Battle Forum IV. Masterone has a unique way of fighting and despite his unorthodox style it works for him. He almost became the first Gladiator to Repeat as Champ but was put down by Mondo. Now Masterone returns to reclaim his place as Champion. You need to excercise great patience when battling Masterone. He brings a chess mentality to the Battle Forum.

Last but certainly not least is the 2 time Champ Mondo. Winning the Battle Forum once is an outstanding achievement but doing it twice is on another level. But that's exactly what Mondo is. He's on another level. Obviously chosen by the Battle Forum Gods to lead the Gladiators into Battle, Mondo simply combines skill with an acute sense of insight to put down his opponents. You don't want to face the Champ in a head to head battle so the best way to avoid that is to finish in the top 6.

We have other reknown Gladiators in Battle Forum VI. Upset City the former Champ is back to reclaim the glory of winning the Championship. Degosfinest who is always dangerous. Hashbrowns returns and with a break here or there he would have been a Champion already. Phillyfan is here. Phillyfan seems to always get off to a fast start and is looking to get over the hump in Battle Forum VI. Brackson the All-Time streak leader is back once again to bring his magic to the Battle Forum. This format may be more conducive to his strategy and we all are witnesses to his handicapping skills. There are many more battle tested Gladiators in Battle Forum VI. We know that these Tournaments always produce some surprises. We expect more of the same in Battle Forum VI.

Just an FYI the Tournament should end before the date posted. I always add an extra week just in case we have a tie and we need an OT session.

Just an FYI the Tournament should end before the date posted. I always add an extra week just in case we have a tie and we need an OT session.

    BRACKSON LEADS THE CHARGE

Brackson sets the early pace in the Battle Forum by scoring 452 points. Brackson went 6-2. It was a solid day for the All-Time Streak leader. The Rookie DDG9 went 3-0 in his first taste of the Battle Forum. DDG9 scored 383 points and is currently in 2nd place. Battle Forum Vet Thedeakon is in 3rd Place with 361 points. Another Rookie Centralflaguy rounds out the top Gladiators on Day one. Centralflaguy scored 291 points by going 4-1.

We have some notables falling down on Day one. Crushalot who normally gets off to a slow start outdid himself by going winless 0-6. Crush is -686 already.  Former Champ Upset City also went winless going 0-3 with -343 points. Remember it's only Day one and the 1st Round is a 14 day marathon. Also with the format for Battle Forum VI being so generous with 8 picks allowed no Gladiator is safe and no Gladiator will be out of it in the early going.

    DAY 2

    CENTRALFLAGUY SURGES AS BRACKSON TUMBLES!

Centralflaguy has surged to the top of the heap thanks to a 4-2 day and gaining 222 points. Centralflaguy has a 82 point lead over the 2nd place Grambus. Grambus held steady in Day 2 going 3-1 and gaining 219 points. The biggest loser on Day 2 was Brackson. After leading the pack on Day 1 Brackson slide all the way down to 13th Place by virtue of going 1-6 and losing and whopping 572 points. Meanwhile the biggest gainer of the day was Upset City. Upset City recovered from a disastrous Day 1 by gaining 602 points after going 5-0. That result catapulted Upset City all the way to the 6th spot.

After 2 days the Gladiators are starting to settle in and strategies and counterstrategies will be implemented. One thing is certain and that is in Battle Forum VI no lead is safe and one good day can turn around your fortunes as we have witnessed by Upset City's surge. So as we head into Day 3 the excitement will start to build the games will take on a different tone. This is the Battle Forum. The best contest on Covers on bar none.

    DAY 3

    CENTRALFLAGUY GOES BERSERK!

He may be a Battle Forum Rookie but CentralFlaGuy is kicking tail like a veteran Gladiator. CFG went 6-0 capping a perfect day with a 600 point gain. CFG has exploded his lead over 2nd Place from 82 to 482 points. Wow! Grambus kept up his steady pace marking his 3rd straight day of going 3-1 and gaining 200 or more points each day. Grambus is Battle Forum vet now and knows how to set his pace in this 1st Round. Upset City continued his upward climb. He is now in 5th Place after his slow start. Masterone has now claimed the 8th spot after posting a 2-0 day and gaining 200 points. Masterone is the only Gladiator to make consecutive appearances in the Finals so he is always dangerous.

After Day 3 it's becoming apparent that you will need to do some serious winning to get in the top 8. Unlike the last couple of Battle Forums where the 8th spot had a losing record until the last few days, this year you will have to be on point if you want to make it to the next round.

    DAY 4

    SIXBANKZ SURGES TO THE TOP!

Sixbankz patience has paid off. He has been the tortoise so far in this Tournament by making only a few picks. That tortoise strategy is working well now as Sixbankz has taken the lead after Day 4. Centralflaguy had a full meltdown going 1-6 and losing 636 points. Sometimes it's best to put the sword down for a day. CFG went from a 482 point lead to tumbling to a 4th Place tie with Upset City and is now trailing the top spot by 132 points. That can be made up quickly in the Battle Forum no doubt. Pillsburydough is suddenly the hottest Gladiator in the Battle Forum. Pills has gained 599 points in 3 days and moved up to 7th Place now.

As we enter the first weekend of the Tournament the race for the Playoff spots is starting to shape up. The final spot is held by Thedeakon with Taylorsallstars trailing by only 10 points. Phillyfan is above the Mendoza line trailing the last Playoff spot by only 255 points. The rest of the field is in the negative most notably Crush, WBellhaven and Degosfinest who are all trailing badly at the bottom of the heap. But in Battle Forum VI the format is such where nothing is settled and you can go from last to 8th with a hot day.

    DAY 5

    CENTRALFLAGUY TAKES BACK THE LEAD!

CFG retook the lead a day after giving it all away. CFG has now put the Gladiators on notice that despite being a Rookie he is a force to reckoned with in the Battle Forum. CFG put together another undefeated day going 5-0 and gaining 517 points. It's his 2nd undefeated day in the first week of this tournament. But there is a storm brewing in the Battle Forum.

We have 4 Gladiators who are looking like sharp shooters. SixBankz is hitting at an incredible 80%. The always dangerous Masterone is hitting at 75%. Pillsbury is hitting at 70% and Taylorallstars is just a tad under 70% hitting at 69.23%. Why are the percentages so important you say? Battle Forum history tells us that the Gladiators with high percentages are the toughest opponents when head to head battles start. So watch out for these sharp shooters if they make it to the next round.

Meanwhile Atlanta continues his upward climb. He has gained 673 points the past 2 days and is now in 9th Place and is only 36 points behind Masterone for that 8th and final spot. As we start the weekend push we see that the race is tightening up. No lead is safe and everybody still has a chance. But for the Gladiators at the bottom of the standings they must start to make a move now so they don't fall any further behind. All it takes is two good days to get you back in the running.

    DAY 6

    CENTRALFLAGUY EXTENDS HIS LEAD!

CFG has tightened his hold on 1st Place in this 1st Round of the Battle Forum. CFG gained 401 points by posting a 5-1 record. CFG is now 10-1 over the past two days. He's certainly the class of the field thus far. Thedeakon has now moved into 2nd Place after gaining 492 points today. Phillyfan on the back of 2 strong days has now entered the Top 8. Phillyfan has gone 8-3 the past 2 days and has gained 484 points in the process.

Meanwhile Upset City and Pillsburydough both tumbled out of the Top 8 suffering heavy losses. Upset City lost 364 points today going winless at 0-3. Pillsburydough suffered an even worst fate losing 519 points going 1-5 in the process. We are now approaching the halfway mark of this 1st Round so it's really time for any Gladiators who want to advance to adjust their strategies and get prepared for battle. This is the Battle Forum!

    DAY 7

    TAYLORSALLSTARS MAKES HIS MOVE!

Taylorsallstars has climbed all the up to 2nd Place thanks to a 3-1 record on Sunday. Taylor has gained 489 points in the last 3 days. It's been his consistency that has him right in thick of this Battle Forum. He's still 538 points behind the leader Centralflaguy but Taylor is making his presence felt and is positioning himself for another Quarterfinal appearance. Today is the start of the 2nd half of the 1st round and the Gladiators only have 7 days left to qualify for the next round. No doubt the tension is building as we head into Day 8.

    DAY 8

    RISING FROM THE BOTTOM!

Crush is making his move. After spending the 1st half of this tournament in Last Place, Crush put in a 8-0 day (We hope he had a Parlay card on that as well). He gained 835 points on the day and suddenly Crush is in 13th Place sitting at -72 points. Upset City also had a good day on Monday. He gained 400 points by going 4-0. Upset City is now in 2nd Place.

It looks like we're going to have a wild finish for these Playoff spots. Masterone currently holds the 8th and final spot but we have 3 Gladiators within 200 points of him. Atlanta, Hashbrowns and PhillyFan are all in striking distance of Masterone.

    DAY 9

    DEGOSFINEST BUSTS OUT!

Degofinest had the 2nd best day in the Tournament so far. Degosfinest gained 731 points after going 6-2 yesterday. That's 2nd only to Crush's 835 point gain on Monday. Degosfinest made the jump all the way to 12th Place only 303 points behind DDG9 the 8th Place Gladiator.

The field has really tightened up now as most of the Gladiators had good solid days. It's shaping up to be a great battle for the last Playoff spots. The only safe Gladiators at this point appear to be the frontrunners Centralflaguy and Upset City. CFG has 1685 points while Upset City has 1202 points. It would take a complete meltdown by them not to make it to the Quarterfinals. But the race for the 6-8 spots is wide open. Only 350 points separate 6th Place Atlanta from 11th Place Thedeakon. Thedeakon had a rough day yesterday losing 524 points, half of that on Cleveland. So now we enter Day 10 and the pressure is on as the race for the Playoffs spots is increasing. Which Gladiators will make it to the Quarterfinals and which ones will be on the outside looking in? We will learn more in the next couple of days that's for sure.

     DAY 10

    CRUSH CONTINUES HOT STREAK!

Crush has gone from Last Place all the way up to 11th Place and is now only 172 points behind Atlanta for the 8th and final Playoff spot. He has gained an incredible 1176 points the last 3 days. What a great run by this Veteran Gladiator. The other hot Gladiators include Grambus who is now back in 2nd Place after gaining 870 points this week. Upset City has gained 842 points to solidify his position in the standings. Smoothd is starting to make a run as he has gained 651 points and Degosfinest rounds up the hottest Gladiators with a 473 point gain this week. Only time will tell if it's too late for Smoothd and Degosfinest as they sit in 13th and 16th Place respectively.

The race for the top spot is definitely getting heated with Grambus, Upset City and Centralflaguy slugging it out. The race for the last 2 spots is really tight with 5 Gladiators less than 200 points apart. We're now entering the stretch run in this Opening Round of the Battle Forum and it's going to have it's usual exciting finish no doubt.

    1ST ROUND FINAL TWO DAYS

The race for the final Playoff spots is intensifying as the 1st Round enters it's final 2 days. The 7th and 8th spots are up for grabs. Currently DDG9 has the 7th spot at 475 points. Phillyfan has the last spot at 325 points. But in the rearview mirror is a quartet of Gladiators. Atlanta leads the quartet at 243 points and is only 82 points behind Phillyfan. Manhands, Brackson and Teelocke are within striking range as well. Teelocke the only female Gladiator has gone from Last Place to 13th and she a good shot at stealing a spot in the Playoffs.

Crushalot, Degosfinest and Smoothd all had made a move earlier in the week but have fallen back again. Smoothd had a exceptionally bad day yesterday going 2-6 and 644 points. Degosfinest also had a bad day going 2-6 and losing 405 points. Crush lost 257 points while going 2-3. Crush still has a decent shot of making the Top 8 while Degofinest and Smoothd would have to gain around 1000 points to have a shot.

The last two days of this 1st Round will be exciting as the Battle intensifies and the Gladiators go all out in an effort to advance to the next stage.

Inactivity was the buzz word for the next to last day of the first round of the battle forum as many of the leaders stood on the sidelines patting each other on the back, as the also rans spent much of the day trying to inflict additional mortal wounds on each other, hoping to grab one of the last spots in the top eight and move on to the next round. Phillyfan at the end of the day found himself on the outside looking in with one day remaining. DDG9 was the last qualifier, and will have to hold off all those who want his spot in the qualifying round for the chance to face the much feared member of the Midwest Mafia Fusilli Mondo, a one man killing crew in previous Battle Forums, but rumored to be too long in the tooth to be a factor in the current contest. It appears Central Florida Guy will continue his beach vacation for a week in preparation for the next round, and Upset City will be out on the lakes of Minnesota fighting fish rather than gladiators in preparation for the next round. Grambus strikes blows here and there as a tune up for his opponent in the next round, and Masterone will be looking for three final strikes to put him in the next round as he has followed a pattern of "less is more" in first round action. The real fun this last day will be among the bottom 12 as they try to find a way to fight their way into at least the last slot for continued capping gloary

    1ST ROUND FINAL DAY

This may be the first Battle Forum where we don't have a mad battle for the final Playoff spots. Most of the drama will be between the Gladiators already in the Top 8 trying to avoid finishing 7th and 8th. Currently Atlanta and DDG9 hold the 7th and 8th spots with Atlanta having 831 points and DDG9 having 661 points respectively. Taylorsallstars has 902 points in the 5th spot and Sixbankz has 863 points in the 6th spot. Atlanta will make a push to get out of the 7th spot no doubt. Meanwhile Masterone has to make 3 picks today minimum. He currently has 990 points. So if he goes winless he could fall all the way down to the 8th spot or be out completely depending on what the few Gladiators on the outside looking in do today.

That group of outsiders is led by Phillyfan sitting in the 9th spot at 300 points. Phillyfan could steal a spot but he will have to have an exceptional day and not lose more than 2 games to have a decent chance. He also has to wonder what DDG9 will do. Will he stand pat or gamble and make picks to avoid be overtaken? WBellhaven has done a nice job of making a late charge but the Gladiator who has always made it to the Quarterfinals will need lots of luck if he wants to continue that streak. WBellhaven has 111 and will need to go undefeated today and get some help to advance. Teelocke has also done a good job making a late charge but she is facing long odds of advancing. Teelocke has 43 points and will need some upsets to have even the smallest of chances of gaining a Top 8 spot. The rest of the field is pretty much eliminated and would need a miracle from the Virgin Mary to advance.

So today will have some definite drama and thanks to this new format the main drama will be avoiding the 7th and 8th spots. So get your popcorn ready. It's going to be a long day in the Battle Forum.

    TEELOCKE'S BIG PUSH

You can't keep a good woman down especially if she is a Gladiator. Teelocke is making a major push to overtake DDG9. She has gone 5-1 and gained 400 points to come within 118 points of DDG9. Meanwhile Phillyfan is still waiting for his games to finish knowing that he has a chance now to get in that last spot.

HIGH DRAMA IN THE BATTLE FORUM!

Battle Forum VI has turned into a Telenovela (That's those Hispanic Soap Operas for those not in the know) Crush has gone 5-0 and has gained 500 points to do the unthinkable. He's trying to steal DDG9's spot and leave Teelocke on the outside looking in like a jilted bride. But wait there's more. Here comes Phillyfan like a SWAT team on a hostage rescue. Phillyfan is blazing his way into the picture and chaos is reigning in the Battle Forum. We have 4 Gladiators fighting for one spot as we head into the final games of the day. Don't forget we have the night game with Washington and Cubs. That game could decide this epic 4 way battle.
