The most underrated forwards in the league are Loui Eriksson and David Backes.
James Neal should definately also be on the "under-rated" list. one of the top goal scorers and doesn't make the All-Star team?
He would be up there, but the reason I have the other two guys listed above Neal is because of the linemates/teammates that Eriksson and Backes play with in comparison.
Having said that, Mr Benn is another dandy Dallas forward that doesn't get a lot of recognition outside of Big D.
Backes is not super talented (really a prototypical 2nd or 3rd line center) by any means, but he plays a complete 200 foot game with an edge to go with his big frame. He does it all for STL and leads by example. Opposing players know they have to keep their head up when #42 is skating around with the Blue Note on his chest.
Backes should have been at least a nominee for the Selke last year. He was a 30-30-30 player (goals, assists, +/-) and is well on his way to a repeat season in his first year as captain.

can't mention "under-rated" without dding the Flyers Scotty Hartnell. leads them in goals and 2nd to Giroux in points and outside of Philadelphia NO ONE pays any ATTENTION. he's the REAL "heart and soul" of their team.
I would trade half the Pennies team outside of the "Strelki Linil" and LeTang and Flower for him
speaking of Scotty Hartnell, after being down 1-3 to the Bruins after the 1st period, it' now "Bruins 3 Scotty Hartnell 3" with a tackon 4th goal by "Mad Max" Talbot (another "under-rated" player my Penguins should have NEVER let get loose) to make it 4-3 Flyers going into the 3rd period

as of this moment its malkin...But i'm taking Ovechkin slightly over Stamkos. The man that gets no credit which I feel is the best complete player in the world is Pavel Datszuk. Just My opinion
Ovechkin is barely top 50.
This season Malkin, but last time he best player the NHL licked Ovbies nuts and gave it to him. Pavel is also one of best that never gets enough credit.
