grats to all you Canadians...... even the occasionally obnoxious ones..... great fucking game, great fucking tournament overall!
can't really imagine a better outcome....... USA kicked ass, but Canada got their gold to close out the games...... the urgency to get the gold was obvious in the OT period......
i don't think i could have stomached watching Canada have to accept a silver on their home turf, with that long ass medal ceremony, as the last moment of the games...... would have been like watching a funeral....... that just would not have been right!
glad it ended the way it did......

maybe, but i think the reality is that Canada had more urgency and desparation in the OT...... it was just an onslaught......
looked to me like the pressure was hurting them in the 2nd and 3rd (especially the 3rd), but they have some serious vets on that team, and in the OT period they leaned on those guys and they embraced that pressure......

Wow.
Just got back from downtown Ottawa. Never seen this dull city this estatic.
I was at a pub downtown when the OT goal was scored. The intensity was insane.
I thought Miller let in a bad goal though.
I was surpised the US played so well. Shots on goal we're about equal.
Maybe Canada vs Russia is history in hockey, and Cnada vs US is the new norm.
I'm glad it's over though. I've spent too much time and too much emotional energy on this damn tournament.
We Canadians should not place so much of our identity on a sport though. It's not healthy.
