Well last night was an absolute bomb of an evening for myself, All is well, made a withdrawal and I'm well funded going into future games.
I made home made pancakes for breakfast today, so I don't know if that's going to affect the way I handicap games, so tail acccordingly.
ON to todays action..
Teams coming in to tonight's action "back to back" securing victories last night that I like today, but I'm hoping the dogs have some bite. The teams i like are trending in the right direction..
Thoughts and Leans
WASHINGTON +114 rolls into Philly starting 23 year old rookie goalie Garin Bjorklund making his NHL debut. (Not Confirmed as of writing) This young chap seems pretty solid between the pipes, Bjorklund has a 40-17-4 record with a 2.63 goals-against average, a .907 save percentage and two shutouts in 64 career ECHL games with South Carolina. Washington is coming off a win last night in Long Island giving them 3 wins in a row..I expect Washington to play a much tighter defensive game tonight protecting the young goalie by restricting shots. Washington is capable of shutting down the Flyers who have lost 4 games in a row. Washington a very solid 7-3 vs Flyers last 10 and 5-0 LAST 5 VS Flyers..
COLUMBUS -110 takes on New Jersey tonight where the Devils have had there way with Columbus going a solid 4-1. When capping games I look for things that don't show up on the score sheet. I played a little junior A hockey back in my day so I know a bit about the game. I know If i played for Columbus this game is circled on the calendar. LAST TIME these 2 teams played was NEW YEARS EVE in Columbus.. Guess who won? Final shots on goal were 35 -33 for Columbus they lost 3-2 to New Jersey. Alot has changed between these 2 teams since that fateful News Years Eve game. Columbus is rolling, going 9-1 their past 10 games, with 5 wins in a row. Devils are 6-4 last 10 with 2 wins in the last 5 games played. KARMA is a beautiful thing, Look for Columbus to even the score tonight and keep the streak going under new head coach Rick Bowness.
OTTAWA +150 on back to back games taking on Carolina. Ottawa comes into Carolina playing a good brand of defensive hockey going 4-1 their past 5 games. The team has recovered from a rash of earlier season injuries and is once again gaining health. It's nice to see them getting some solid goaltending as well, as Ullmark has returned to the lineup. Carolina is 3-2 the past 5 vs Ottawa and their last matchup on January 24th is what caught my eye. Carolina got out to an early lead 3-0 on just 8 shots in the first period. Ottawa got terrible goaltending under the absence of Ullmark and chased the score the entire game, outshooting Carolina 37-19 with a 16-3 margin in the 3rd period. Goalies have not been announced as of yet, but if REIMER starts it's your call..This is a no play if Reimer starts, he was the guy who got shelled in the first period last time out..
OTHER LEANS IN ORDER OF PREFERENCE
ANAHEIM -145
BUFFALO +165
ISLANDERS -110
TORONTO +152
Hope everyone has a profitable evening, Don't complain to me if my picks crash + burn...

Love the picks, but; I see that Vladar is confirmed for the Flyers who is 16-8-5 with a 2.50 scored against avg, and .903 save %. I see Clay Stevenson starting for the Caps, 1st road start for him........Caps have lost 11 of 15 road games and on the 2nd of a B2B......Caps are 0-6 in the 3rd game of a 3 n 4 days scenario, I am staying away from this one.....I think.......
