Looking at this incident in isolation it stands as the most trivial case of biting ever. To suggest the NHL is in disrepute because of how they handled this matter is beyond laughable.
You don't see the Bruins whining about this.....they play the game like men. They have moved on but I guess some here will suggest this cup is tainted because of the infamous nibble.

even last night the slash on bieksa by kelly was far more vicious. moreso, the refs didn't even call a penalty and while bieksa was crumpled on all 4's it led to an open chance for kelly to score!
that was pathetic, but kevin is good and no goal scored. even if he did i would not be rushing to start a new thread about the mishap like the original cry baby of this thread did

2nd . He bit him. He didnt deserve 10 games but 1 game or you know what I will give everyone this. How about you just fine him? Come out and say we really dont want this in our game and fine him a few thousand dollars. So you sort of punish him and it looks like you dont want guys to bite each other and then you move on.
By doing nothing, by completely lying and saying there was no video evidence of a bite, which no one except Burley believes, it looks foolish and I think it is an embarrassment to the league especially when this guy scores the winner the next game.

A fine would be reasonable to denounce biting in the game....agreed. I don't think the bite was vicious or was there an intent to injure so I struggle with the suspension aspect. That said, to deter other incidents and have the league acknowledge/demonstrate it was wrong, a fine was proper for sure.
