Karlsson said it was intentional.

GM Murray "Im outraged that we lost Karlsson.  The league suggested it was a hockey play gone wrong and i suggested that cooke has a history and maybe that should be considered but i dont believe that's the approach they took."

At first glance I thought this was just bad luck but after watching it a few times no way.  Who goes into check a guys a lifts one skate up and drives down like that?  Cooke is a dirty pig and it is very surprising to me that Gary"Please let any American team win the cup cun tface"Bettman and the NHL see this as just a hockey play gone wrong.
