Sounds like this is not just a minor injury. This injury apparently happened against Calgary on March 30th from a hit by Adam Klapka. A separated shoulder may be the injury. The only short term fix is surgery, or to freeze the joint prior to play which will limit his shooting ability. There are videos of the hit on you tube. Regardless, the shoulder was re-injured during the Minnesota series and the loss of Makar is a serious blow to the Avalanches Stanley Cup hopes. No doubt teams will be targeting the all star defensemen so a prolonged period of physical abuse is in the cards for Makar when he eventually returns. Just be aware his loss will have an impact on the series as Jack Eichel can now focus his energy on slowing down Nathan MacKinnon. Colorado is no longer a two headed monster, and the changes in Stanley cup winning odds has reflected that.
