Lightning over the Canadiens in Game 1

The Canadiens are understandably popular today.  Montreal and Tampa Bay both finished with 106 points, so taking +155 seems much more appealing than laying -175 or more.

These teams split the season series, but Tampa’s two wins happened a long time ago, whereas the Canadiens upset the Lightning in Tampa 4-1 on March 31st. Then ten days ago they beat them again 2-1 in Montreal.

The Lightning got drummed out of the 1st round in each of the last two seasons by the eventual Cup champs, and with the Panthers not in the way this time, I think the Lightning are going to waste no time in advancing to the second round.

I’m on the Lightning -175 risking 14 units to win 8.

I’m on the Lightning -150 in the 1st period risking 3 units to win 2.

I’m on the Lightning -230 to win the series risking 11.5 units to win 5.

I just added the Lightning -1.5 +150 risking 4 units to win 6.

I like it 

A mere 4 shots on goal in each of the first two periods for Montreal and they’re tied.

As the two teams prepared to head into overtime, what was my expectation of winning?

It was low.

Very low.

Montreal was toothless in 5 on 5 play, but man did they look sharp on the power play.  The passing and spacing was elite.  Something to continue to watch in this series.

they had their chances, was like some hex on them, I recall you're good in soccer, wasn't your day..what else looks good?

 Agree - Bolts stay out of the Box in this series, and they should prevail.  But if they give up5-6-7 PP each game, they are in trouble...
