first losing day in a while for me going 1-4 losing -12 units. the only win was vancouver in regulation. some bad luck loses with the flyers giving up the lead with 20 seconds left to send the game into overtime and vancouver unable to score with an empty net for 1:45 at the end of the game. the other loss was minnesota. for tomorrow there is not much that really stands out to me. at first glance i am leaning the rangers/capitals under (both teams seem to play low scoring, grind it out games), penguins (having trouble scoring but getting good chances lately and a good price tomorrow at carolina), and saint louis (really like the way they played tonight against vancouver and their offense looks really good lately) and the blues/oilers over. i'm going to do my research tomorrow and see what i come up with. one thing for sure is that i may knock down my units just a bit after thursday's shalacking. i hope everyone has a good night and i will see you in here tomorrow! thoughts and opinions always welcome

the capitals have played to the under in 8 of their last 10 games and even though the rangers have been going over the total in 4 of their last 5 games they generally are a good defensive, low scoring team with great goaltending. they will also be without marian gaborik for this game. i think this will be a tight checking game just like washington has been playing lately.
PITTSBURGH PENGUINS +135 2 UNITS
even though pittsburgh has lost 3 in a row they have all been by 1 goal and against good teams. they have also acquired james neal and alexie kovalev recently to try and get some scoring punch. hopefully kovalev will be reenergized after being traded to a contender where he once shined. carolina has also had its struggles recently losing 3 out of 4 and 6 out of 8 games. i will take my chances on pittsburgh and the plus money to pull out the win tonight.
BUFFALO SABRES IN REG -130 2 UNITS
the sabres played a really good game a couple nights ago against atlanta after the new ownership change and being called out by their general manager for being soft at home. well tonight they have another chance to prove to their fans they can win at home against the ottawa senators who are beginning to play better with craig anderson between the pipes. however, they just traded away kovalev who was scoring some goals for them. i think buffalo will come out hungry again and prove too much for the senators at home.
BLUES/OILERS OVER 5.5 2 UNITS
i am really impressed with the oilers lately winning 4 out of their last 5 games and scoring some goals in the process (19 goals in those 5 games). i am also impressed with the saint louis offense and power play since acquiring chris stewart and lesser known shattenkurck from colorado. they have gone over the total in 3 or their last 4 games and should have last night as well with the pressure they put on vancouver throughout the game.
on a side note i think there are several games tonight that have a good chance to get into overtime if you can muster up the confidence to play them. i, for one, cannot after a dissapointing day yesterday. anyway, good luck in whatever you play tonight!

at first i was a little hesitant with this play because of tampa routing phoenix 8-3 a couple nights ago but then i looked more closely and thought labarbera started for phoenix playing their 2nd of a back to back traveling from philadelphia. before that the lightning lost 3 of their last 4. meanwhile, new jersey has been making me some money during their current 16-1-2 run. they have also won 8 in a row only giving up 8 total goals in that stretch. hedberg playing great, defense playing great, and kovalchuk scoring the goals. going with the devils again tonight

another bad night going 1-4 for -6.6 units. at least i dropped my units a bit to save some face. my luck seems to be running out as the rangers scored with 30 seconds left to make it 6-0 and go over while bishop, the 3rd goalie for the blues made 39 saves to shutout the oilers and keep the game under at 5-0, unreal!
caps/rangers under 5.5 -2.6 units
