Can't remember the last time I was this nervous

Caps hadn't been to the playoffs in 5 years.  Before that they hadn't been in a game 7 since I was a little squirt.  Way too young to get nervous.  Sure, they faced elimination, but never with a chance to win the series on the same night. 

In 98 they didnt face elimination until the cup, and I never really got nervous because I think I was the only one in the entire country who expected them to win.  Note:  I was wrong!

But tonight, sitting here at work, with nothing to do but contemplate what may happen , your thoughts start racing. 

This is what we live for.  As hockey degenerates, tonight is our pinnacle.  Game 7!  Do or die!  This post basically doesnt have much of a point to it, but things are electric.

The nerves have set in!  Can the Caps do it?

7th game in 12 nights!

Flyers fans, good luck tonight.  It's been a hell of a series.

Less than 2 hours away...

The thing is, if they got beat last night, I would have been ok with it.

But not tonight.  Not after winning games 5 AND 6 and coming home for game 7.

If they blow it tonight, I will be PISSED!!!!!

My Stars  moved on for the first time since 03...pulling for Calgary tonight...would love to host Colorado because it is always a great series...how abou Robidas in the last series???

Obviously I'm pulling for Calgary anyway, but I would love to see a Colorado/Dallas series over a San Jose/Dallas series any day of the week.

don't worry at all.  As a long time Flyer fan, I know the their MO in elmination games and it is awful.  You should be well on your way to quenching those nerves about 5 minutes in. 
 
Typical Flyers game in this situation is
give up a quick goal with the first 3 minutes.
scrounge for about 10 minutes and then give up a another goal with about 4 minutes to go in the 1st. this will be quickly followed up with another goal to end the period at 3-0 Caps.
Flyers might score an early goal in the 2nd but that is unlikely.  Doesn't really matter as the Caps will score twice more in the second.  Third period the teams will skate for the caps not to get hurt and flyers to end the season.

i hear ya, it sucks man..when nashville and detroit went into ot in game 5 i was so fucked up lol i love just sitting back watching a good hockey game not really caring who wins..although i prefer the caps.

or would u rather see colorado cuz san jose would most likely knock dallas out?

tough one, jrock BUT your guys had one HELL of a season coming back from being the bottom team in the league early season to make the playoffs and then coming back from down 1-3 to get a game 7 in the series. the Caps future is bright if you can keep your cadre of young players
 
btw (and no offense but) I have Flyers, Penguins and Rangers future bets working in the next round SO I'm happy with the outcome tonight ALTHOUGH I'm somewhat aprehensive about my Pennies playing the Rangers next round

Jrock, tough one, and quite frankly, I was shocked to see my Flyers pull this out.  The Caps outplayed the FLyers for much of the game and we got away with that Kapanen goal - - should have been goalie interference.  Maybe Koharski and Devorski were trying to make up for all the playoff pasts where they made shitty calls against the Flyers, who knows.  Ovechkin's goal was sick.  I was sick to my stomach all day, and I know exactly how you feel.

Nothing for the CAPS fans to hang their heads about.

The best comeback from last to first in NHL history in the regular season. They finally have added some talent at the trade deadline to help them next year.

Between you and me how the fuck that 2nd goal was allowed when the flyers guy pushed the defenseman into the goalie is beyond me. 2 linesman, 2 refs and a video replay guy missed it. Oh well.

Congrats on a very improved year.

Hate to see that Fucking goal counted in the 2nd. 

I know for a fact that if we were the Rangers, or Penguins, there would have een a long delay, where the play would have seen over and over and over, the NHL commissioner would be called and 10 min later it would have been waived, for the caps, NO Bureaucratic Love.

BULLSHIT>  Was at that game and you just left with a shitty taste in your mouth,

But I will admit they flyers were the better team.

goaltender interference cannot be reviewed,it would have had to been called by officials on the ice....borderline call,Thoresen is playing the body on a man with the puck.

Your guy pushed the washington guy into his own goalie. Knocked him right out of the crease. How the REF did not see it and call it is beyond me. I saw the corner view. The REF was in great position to call a no goal which imo it was not. Not trying to take away nothing from the Flyers at all.

vicb - - given some horrendous calls and non-calls over the years by koharski and devorski against the flyers in the playoffs, i was shocked that they did not call goaltender interference on Kapanen's goal.  shocked.  Even Bill Clement said another ref at another time maybe makes that call.  as a flyer fan, i was thrilled, but i know i would have been  screaming bloody murder if the caps did that
