Hey Jay, one thing about Carter maybe we can agree on is I wish he would be more aggressive. He is a big guy but he does not use his size enough or play with as much snarl as he could that's for sure....
yes He needs to be more physical
and Giroux needs to let it fly this series, I know he had 7 assists in round 1 but IMO he overpassed too much. Don't be afraid to put it on net Claude!!!

the goal by kelly featured a spear AND a high stick by Ryder which should have nullified the play

My second choice would be a tie between Chara's and Subban's 435th dive of the series, behind the net, where he chicken-winged Ference's stick and did the Lipton Iced Tea backflop onto the ice. That was classic. Only Subban could bother embarrassing himself to that degree to get a call.

Halpern was lazily circling around to backcheck, having somehow glided his way way out of the play. He decided to go right at Ference and presumably circle around him to get back in the play. As for this, "speared" is WAY too strong a word. Kelly is skating and when Hamerlik goes for the pokechek he lifts Kelly's stick a bit and, one handed, the tip catches him somewhere in the chest/stomach/throat area. Even on replay you can't tell where it catches him.
Bottom line is that it most players would need to be shot to allow themselves to be taken out of the play in Game 7 in a tie game with 10 minutes left. Apparently for some it takes next to nothing to try to buy a call. It was a stupid risk and he paid for it.

I personally didn't think he was faking. I've been slightly concussed in hockey before in recent years and the succeeding ones were both very subtle glances. I thought he was dazed, no question. I think the Jack Edwards BS on that call was really more about the fact that he should have been off the ice for 15 minutes, and therefore the Montreal organization violated a rule. Now, if the shoe had been on the other foot and the player wanted in, I'd have put him in and screwed the rule. So I don't see the issue there.
My objection is to anyone who sees that as a penalty, or worse yet, worthy of suspension. Unlike the other instances where hockey "experts" wrongly accuse the victim of not protecting himself, here's a spot where Halpern screwed up. Very true. Though the Bruins were also without their #1 center, it's just that folks tend to forget that.
Not forgetting anything. Full marks to the Bruins for doing well without Savard. The B's have some pretty nice depth at forward - and some young guys such as Seguin who I would have liked to see play - I think he's going to be very good.
Montreal simply doesn't have the depth on D that the B's do up front. Losing Markov and Gorges - and having to rely on guys like Spacek and Wisniewski to log meaningful minutes, there's no way you're going to beat a team as deep and talented as the B's. Just no way. I mean, if Thomas hadn't been mediocre to brutal in the first two games, it wouldn't have even been a series...
