Week 8 Leans/Plays

I'm not a real big teaser or parlay type of guy personally..I do like that 2 team parlay though.  I don't know if I could bet on Miami this week.  Like I said I think teasers and parlays are stupid, but I'm not going to lie I bet a few teasers the last couple of weeks and went 2-1 on those.  Good luck with your plays.

Yeah I understand people that don't like teasers, I was doing well the seasons before I found out about teasers and I do like them if they are sharp teasers.  As far as the parlay I was gonna play either Minn or NYG straight, but I like them both for the same reasons and couldn't decide so figured parlay em.

I think Dallas is really going to pound the Seahawks.  Giants will win SU, glad I grabbed it at 3, before it moved to them being favored.  Favre won't dominate the Packers, but they will will win.  Thats my thinking. 

What you think about Houston and Denver games?

I was thinking houston by 10 and I don't see how u can't jump on Denver plus points.

Houston scares me this week, I think they are obviously the play, but the Bills have won 2 in a row, Fitzpatrick has been a huge upgrade for them at the QB position.  I just don't like the game personally.  Denver, game just scares me because I think they are due for a loss and a no cover.  Thats just my opinion.

I will be sure and wear my ROMO jersey on Sunday. I've worn it 3 times this year and won and covered all 3 times. When I wore my TO jersey they lost to NY and Denver.

Thats cool, I'm goofy like that to.  I'm a Bengals fan, wore my Carson Palmer jersey week 1 and we lost.  Then wore my Chad Johnson jersey for the 4 wins in a row.  But I wore it for the Houston game and they lost so I switched to Palmer for the Bears.  They both went into overtime the same week.

I'm the same way with Notre Dame, and by the way when Notre Dame losses you can guarantee that the Bengals lose.  Both times ND lost, the Bengals lost the next day.  Both of them have two losses both of them have a lot of wins at the end.

My favorite games are NYG and Indy. No sense in risking jumping off the Manning train too early. Can't see the Giants dropping three in a row.
What do you think about Arizona over 41? Jake's turnovers are good for 10 easy.

How do you like carolina at all? how are they gonna score a point on the cards #1 run d and all they have is a run game. Delhomme will throw another three picks. and the giants could hardly move the ball on them how will the panthers.  Panthers pass game is pretty horrible too which is the cards weakness. only scored 9 points on the bills while the cards limit the giants run game and limit them to 17 points, and score 24.  They will put up 30+ on the cats while not giving up more than 10.  Its not like the cards are undefeated and are gonna take a week off, they will be working hard this week guaranteed, plus they have a big time offense.

I actually think Jake plays well this weekend.  I think Carolina contains Boldin and Fitzgerald and plays them very tough.  To me Carolina is still a team that is right on the brink of being good.  I think they have been on the losing end because of very bad mistakes.  I think Delhomme comes out and plays well.  I'm not messing with totals, but yeah I'd say this one goes over.

i just cant change my mind om my gut feeling play Green Bay-3. I kinda think this GB/minny game is a game where you take tradtionally handicapping and throw it out the window. I feel that all the shit with Farve leaving , then jets the retirement and now finding himself in the arch rival vikings uniform does so much more for the motivation of the packers. I really think this will be Green bays game of the year! I feel strong about this GB pick as imo they can gain so much in many aspects by beating the Farve-lead vikes. This one will be a great contest nd normally when u have a great like farve comeback to a venue he did so much for you would think he gets respect. I dont think he will get any respect or at least wont sound like respect ( lots of boos). Imo only. I think he pisssed off a lot of packer fans the way he ended up a viking. Not gonna argue the fact that Allen will be in rodgers face and make his sacks.Not gonn argue that Ap will defintley get his yards. I do feel Farve may feel a litle nervous and uncomfortable and may be off his game early. That may play into the hands of GB defense getting pressure and potental mistakes in the form of favre interception.  I think the packs may be able to get up early and the crowd will most defintley be a huge factor. Not saying GB will dominate or destroy or any of that, its just my humble opinion that there are enough factors to make this a game til the end and GB covering the short FG line. Im not trying to sway anyone my way and honestly would feel MUCH better about this play if we were on the same side buddy but i have to stick with.

also like the 49ers catching nice pts and jets ( if it stays 3 or under) absolutley love st louis in this spot with honestly whatever the line is! Think this is their best chance of getting their 1st win

I think Delhomme will manage the game much better this weekend.  I think this is his last shot...if he doesn't come out and produce he is done in the NFL.  For as many bad games as he has he is always eventually will have a good one.  I think the defense will keep them around and I like catching the 10, because I think its a 4 or 5 point game.  In the NFL the greatest thing is the talent levels are so close among these teams.  The Carolina Panthers aren't that far off from being a good team, I mean Delhomme has killed them he has thrown 13 INTS this year that is absolutely crazy.  I think if he throws one he is done.  I think he manages the game well, and they play tough this weekend. 10 is such a lurring number.  Good luck buddy

I'm glad your sticking with your gut Paintguy.  I think thats what your supposed to do.  I just don't see it, personally.  I think the game will be competitive and hard fought but I think the Vikings pull it out in the end.  This is a big game not just in terms of Favre vs. the Packers, if the Packers win they are basically in first place in the division.  I personally dont think the Packers are very good.  I think this is the only way to go, if your not taking the points you should not be laying the points.  Thats just my opinion.  Of course good luck...

yeah definitely his last chance good point. i was thinkin about teasing that and indy for big money.  but after seeing the cards defense up close last week i think they get enough pressure on him to create turnovers.  Im not too high on the giants either, eli is good but hes no peyton.  haha im also a die hard eagles fan, and its the giants run game that gets teams.  if carolinas run is shut down there is no way that delhomme isnt going to throw a pick or two. I just think that carolina is total garbage this year and wouldnt put money on them (against a good team, i actually took them against tampa just cause they are worse) and would rather just look elsewhere.  Haha like the battle of the shit teams as well with the Rams comin out on top. Yeah I rarely hold grudges not too worried about it personally.  I am really looking forward to the game though.  I think I'm going to stay away from the Rams game I just decided that its pissing me off so bad I'm just probably not going to bet it.  So I decided I like Carolina a lot this weekend.  I wouldn't bet against Peyton Manning....I almost thought about laying the chalk.  I didn't buy into the Alex Smith hype, like I said previously Houston was up 21-0 and really let off the gas pedal.  Then Smith comes in at the half and of course lights it up.  I mean he played well, but again Houston did not gameplan for Alex Smith.  Indy will, I think either Smith shits the bed or lights it up personally I see no in between from him this week.  Personally I think he shits the bed because I don't really think they have the weapons for him to light it up.  Crabtree is making his second start, now Vernon Davis really emerged last week that could be a great sign for that team.  He could present more mismatch problems than anyone in the NFL, in my opinion.  If this fucker would just get it.  Looks like he might be coming around, which is a good thing for 9ers fans, because previously he looked like an average joe.

I have no clue honestly on what to do with the Titans.  They don't even know who is starting at QB yet....I just said fuck it..I don't want to mess with that game at all.  Jacksonville really beat them up once already, why not again. 

Eagles will really struggle in this game if Westbrook isn't able to go.  They will just let the floodgates open on McNabb and he will get sacked 6 or more times.  I think he will get beat up in this game if Westbrook is unable to go.  Now the Texans seem to easy, probably because it is, so I'm not betting it.  Your right I hate putting money on garbage teams as well, but I think Carolina plays them tough this weekend.  Oh well , any way it turns out good luck, hope you hit the Texans game I'm not messing with it.

yeah i know what you mean with the too easy thing but i have thought that so many times this year and laid off them and it hit. 

As for the birds they never run the ball anyways but westbrook is big in screens as well as protecting mcnabb because the rookie doesnt know how, and unless the birds force turnovers their offense isnt consistent.Desean and maclin vs a banged up secondary  could be the game.  and all the o line needs to do is hold up for a couple of those bombs mcnabb has been throwing.  haha definitely not betting on the eagles but i think it will be a real good game always is, just too close to call

When Westbrook goes down it changes the whole dynamic of the team.  I'm sorry but if you guys can't run the ball Sunday, your going to get embarrassed.  You can gameplan enough to stop the pass, but if there is no threat for a run, they will lose by 14+ points.  Westbrook is also a very underrated blitz pick up guy, great on screen plays, incredible hands.  I'm just telling you right now, if you guys can't run the ball you will get smashed.

With all due respect, are you betting Carolina on a "gut" feeling? Delhomme has played awful all year long (even in the wins) and after 6 games, what makes you the next will be any different? Do you have any evidence to back your thinking up or is this some kind of "system" play? I'm not saying your wrong, I'm just saying if it's a "Gut" feeling, I don't know how well that strategy will work in the long run. Tell me where I went wrong.

Lots of Green Bay supporters this weekend, kinda scares me off  the Vikings bet.

I do have my own power rankings I roll by.  I do however use that, and my gut, and trying to find disadvantages for a team.  And a lot of people don't realize this but injuries are huge in the NFL....HUGE.

I've been posting here for several years now and have done pretty well...So I don't think I'm doing bad.  You also never went wrong anywhere.  I understand your questions and concerns.  Personally I have Arizona as a 9 point favorite which isn't a big difference between the spread.  But sometimes I think you have to roll the ball, and I think this is a good game to do it on.  I think a lot of cash is rolling in on Zona and I don't think the line has been moving as much as it should.  I really think Carolina plays enough defense to keep them in the game.  My gut tells me so, and some of the things I looked at that I liked.  Chart is only a 1 point difference but hey whatever.  I like it.  We will see.
