In Lawrence Taylor's MVP season, he had 20.5 sacks and 105 tackles, 5 pass breakups and two forced fumbles.
Got this off another board since I can only find sacks total for LT in 86

Demarcus Ware!!!!  I've heard Dallas has a hard time practicing their offense with Ware being there because he disrupts everything so much

Harrison. No other player had more game changing plays than him.

Albert Haynesworth - 8.5 sacks, 3 FF, 51 tackles, sick stats for a DT, not to mention the attention he gets by the OL.
 
After Harrison and Big Al, Troy P, Ed Reed, and D. Ware are all real close.

demarcus ware is a beast, but ED REED  is a game changer.

Ware is a 1 dimensional player, he gets sacks and thats it.  He cant cover, no way does this dude deserve defensive player of the year.

Ed reed/Troy P or James Harrison should and will get it.  Due to the publicity it will probably be James Harrison

What does Ed Reeds career stats have anything to do with the 2008 season?  Reed's stats are not much better than Troy P, Reed has two td's but TP has 80% more tackles.  Reed is more of a big play guy, TP is more of the get in there and mix it up guy.  Neither has done as much as Harrison has done.

Shows how little you know .. he probably the fastest and most athletic linebacker in the league but on 3rd and long do you want him covering or rushing the QB?

Dude, are you serious? DeMarcus Ware is one-dimensional??? You can't be serious...

He does waaaaaaay more than get sacks. He also is a great run-stopper and a great tackler overall. The other thing with Ware is he draws so much attention that teams have to double him up and change their strategy against him. Plus, even on plays that he doesn't get sacks he's always creating havoc, forcing the QB to make decisions quicker than he'd like to, and force turnovers by hurrying the QB and forcing fumbles. No way is Ware "one-dimensional"!

20 Sacks - 1st in the NFL

6 Forced Fumbles - 2nd in the NFL

7 'Stuffs' - Tied 10th in the NFL

65 Solo Tackles - 2nd on Team

"ONE-DIMENSIONAL"???
