Vince Young

this just in on ESPN vince young gets the nod....bet it before it climbs!!!!!!!

The reason I have more confidence Young over Collins is simple.  It has nothing to do with numbers.  It has to do with making the offense more dynamic.  With Young, Tennessee can really open up it's play book.  They are doing a "decent" job on rushing this year.  The only stat that looks good with Tennessee right now.  Vince will make better decisions under pressure and be able to get out of the pocket quickly.  The reason the have stuck with Collins to this point is he was QB when they went 13-3 last year.  You think by 6 games he would be able to snap out of his funk.  I've never been a fan of Collins and I've always thought Vince Young just hasn't gotten enough quality time in the NFL to mature into a Donovan.  He certainly has the arm and legs.

I'm staying away from this game with so much unknown.  I think I'll be on Cardinals this week and Under 41 in the Chicago/Cleveland game.  Let me know your thoughts.

VY has so much pressure here, on him personally and the winless team.

In addition it was the owners decision to put him in, that's even more pressure and it doesn't say anything about it being a football move that the coach thought gives them the best chance to win.

Plus JAX is 3-0 ATS vs. the AFC South.

If Vince fails, Titans fails.

CB R Mathis will be out for Jaguars while CB C Finnegan should be back for Titans.. Would this give Tenn the advantage?

Of course.  Finnegan is TENN no 1 corner.  He has great hands and knockdown a lot of passes.  He is extremely quick so he can keep up with most the receivers in the league.  He is under 6'0 but has some jump to him.  As for Mathis, he at one point looked to be a top corner in the league but he has been on the decline for quite some time.  He won't be missed as much to JAX. 

Still, very much a NO PLAY.
There are so many easier games to wager on in the NFL than this one.IMO

Tweaks and refining changes during the bye week can create a great advantage for your first game back.   However, Jacksonville was also off last week which nullifies that possibility. 

Now, having your owner force a QB change on you during that off week creates triple the stress and double the work to get things ready for Sunday.  Even if Young puts together a decent season, chances are it will be rough going in the beginning. 

I'll take Jax +3.5 on my parlay card and ML off the board.  I've seen Vince Young play too many times not to jump on this one.

Say what you want and please bet on JAX to drive the line to -2.5 or at least better odds on -3...

two factors to consider...

1. TEN has  had the bye to work in some plays and concept designed for Vince Young (simplified)...This might include having a more of a commitment to trying to run... 

2. JAX is on the road...

Very interesting game we have here.   (Dont read my post any further if you expect to find stats, game break downs, or insight of any kind..From here on its all total speculation)...

And i will start by saying jeff fisher is fucking up the titans on purpose..
let me make my case..

Ryan mouton... Original kickoff returner selected by jeff fisher even while it was known that he was fumbling every other punt or kick off return in practice during camp. He didnt want the job and infact he never did this in college. (any body remember that loss to the jets where he fumbled two back to back kicks and spotting the jets an easy 14 points?

Mark jones originally signed to return punts and kick offs  was cut the very next day after training camp ended. He played very well against the packers in that game and had the best performance of all returners the entire preseason despite the fact that this was the only game he played. Btw, he was resigned by the team after 3 games, this having failed a physical with the panthers)

Chris Carr was cut by fisher (fisher owns the gm for the titans) they apparently refused to pay him 2.5 million as the leading punt returner in the entire league in 2008... Folks i cant impress upon you how little 2.5 million is in the NFL.

Wont talk about haynesworth because that decision probably went over fisher.

Punter Craig Hentrich reported to camp over weight, out of shape and was out played by every one on camp including A.j trappasso.  (you might remember him from ohio state, the kid who was bouncing balls off the dallas cowboys video screen in their brand new stadium making jerry jones face turn redder than a tennessee hooker in church)
He was injured before game 1 of the season, but Fisher some how got him to play in game 1 of the season therefore guaranteeing him full pay for the season. (of course he got "injured" in that game and thats the last the titans saw of him)

Titans sign Hodges to replace Craig Hentrich...Yes they signed some dude off the street instead of signing the kid trappasso who had a great preseason including a fake punt for a td in the first preseason game.  (BTW.. i think Hodges is bottom 5 in the league amongest punters..i think he is probably the last but since i aint to sure i wont tag him with that dubious record)

Center Kevin mawae, almost 100 years old was injured in the titans play off last season and was replaced by a younger bigger healthier harris. The titans proceeded to tear up the best defense of 2008 for a gaggle of yards but kept shooting themselves in the foot with turn overs in the redzone.. I am sure you all remember that game vs the Ravens. (and if you are a steeler fan, yes, it was harris playing when the titans ripped up that fake defense that really wasnt that great when you look at the level of talent the steelers faced..None the less, on paper the titans tore up the two top defense in the league for a gaggle of yards with harris playing center.

Mawae had surgery in the offseason practically missed all of camp but some how beat out a younger harris who is much much better than he is.

Lets get to lendale white. REported to camp almost 30 lbs lighter and was all the talk of the town.  Every one was raving about him. But remember folks, it is a contract year for the mr 15 tds in 2008. Fisher doesnt want him any where near that number of course. (well either fisher or gm) So first couple of games they played, titans did not feature this touch down machine at all. On third and short they elected to pass every single time even while keeping in a smaller chris johnson who was/liability when teams blitz. Last glimpse titans got of the new super duper lendale white, he got in the game vs the jets (probably one of the best dlines in the league before jenkins got injured). They got the ball at the jets 20 yd line. Handed off to lendale white 5 straight times for td. Every body and their mama in the stadium knew he was getting the ball and they couldnt stop him. Believe it or not, in previous and subsequent games he carried the ball about  3 or 4 times.

Chris henry..(yes you dont know who the fuck he is) is a back up back up back the fuck up get run over by the truck dont even dress for games type pine rider. dude didnt play one single game all of 2008 yet he still made the team with mr 15 td rb, lendale white and Mr rookie pro bowler himself chris johnson... And was getting paid second round draft pick money. All of nashville was sure he was to be cut before game one. Some how he made it on the team.

Donnie nickey..(yes i know you dont know who the fuck this guy is, never heard of him, dont even know what position he plays, but some how he was on the team, doing exactly what? i dont know may be you can tell me what he does.

Patrick ramsey. 3rd string QB. I cant for the life of me figure out how fisher planned to sneak this guy onto the field had kerry collins gotten injured. The team owner would have fired him on the spot if he played that guy over VY if something like that had happened. So one has to wonder what exactly was this guy doing on the team ..(incase you are wondering all these mysterious dudes have been cut from the team.. I think donnie nickey is still lurking around some where..may be he has pictures)

And i know you are wondering.. WTF is dude bringing up all these folks for? every team has no name warm bodies here and there.

Well here is the problem.  The titans needed space on the roster for a back up corner because behind courtland finnegan and Harper they had two freshly drafted rookies..(one of whom was the previously mentioned Ryan mouton ) One could even argue that if they had cut any one of these "warm bodies" then they could have resigned Chris carr the leads leading punt returner in 2008 and that 2.5 mil could have been reduced to about 1.5.

Then jeff fisher has a complete meltdown and appears at a charity event wearing a colts jersey. Mannings jersey. the jersey for the most hated team in nashville. And he says he wanted to feel like a winner for a day..

Now i dont know about how you guys like your conspiracy theories baked. But me, i like mine devoid of fact, logic or a plethora of issues that when looked at cant be called a coincidence or just pure luck. That way you can easily dismiss it as a conspiracy.

But when shit piles on like  this bro...i have to ask you all, is it still just wild speculation? Me i dont know.. I just present the facts.

Vince young... Wait one second.. Fisher waited until the team had lost 6 games before playing vince young? WTF was fisher hoping that the leagues leading turn over machine would turn this team around?  hey dont get me wrong, but there isnt a coach in the league who refuse to pull a starter who played as bad as kerry collins did in the last 20 years. If you know this coach please mention him. (and please i  know vince young sucks, but he did lead this team to the play offs before, and he did have an 8 game winning streak and stole rookie of the year starting for an 0-5 team)
Can any body say wild cat? He sure as hell looks better suited to run it than any body in the country outside of Vick.


NOw before you go out and unload your kids college saving account,house,  kidney and liver let me tell you about the Jaguars scheme to move that team to LA as soon as humanly possible by tanking the rest of their games this season................................................

Jake Delhomme ( Carolina Panthers ) should lose his starting QB job also.

 

 

Dont trust the Titans.  I live in Nashville and keep a close eye on them.  If you were betting on VY having a deer in the headlights look be my quest, but not on him winning a game at QB.

  Remember it was the Jacksonville game last year he left the field not to return.  Then went missing that night and was on unsolved mystery for a few hours.

This team has no identity or heart right now, do yourself a favor and donate that monet to a charity before you give it away.

 

 

After coming off a week where your QB threw for a negative 17 yards and your recievers caught  maybe 2 balls, time would be better spent going back to the basics rather than having to change the offense for someone who should have been considered a bust a year ago.

Thae Jags are not much better, but they have a plan and stick to it win, lose or draw. 

From a Titans homer i think Fisher is a good coach, time for a change on both ends though.  Take the Titans at your own RISK!!!!!!!!

I've been a closet Titans fan for years, but there is no WAY I could back them here.

VY starting is not a football decision made by the coach, it's a franchise decision made by the owner to see if a QB is worth a look in the draft.

That's a problem, and does nothing to help VY's confidence.

Great information Bookiekilla.  So basically what you are saying is the Coaches and Management of the Titans are trying to make them lose so they can have better prices on their players and build for the future?  What is the reasoning for this?  Why not go out and try and win a Super Bowl after a 13-3 year?  

this is another game I will just watch from the side lines, here we have a game where Jacksonville needs and wants to win, and Titans ARE ( if not yet already have) into working for next year. They need more help than young in my opinion, getting 59 points put on them  in New England was not the QB,s fault.

It is just a sign of high played players saying ( $%#@  IT)

Both teams have had a week of I just want to wait and see which one consentrated on football,  

 

What i am saying is that jeff fisher is throwing up the big FU to Bud adams the team owner on his way out. (its rumored that he had another gig already lined up before the season started. And in doing that of course he wouldnt mind screwing over Lendale white by not giving him the ball in obvious short yardage situations where is has been and still is the titans best in the roll.

If i am a coach leaving a team and i have some unknown or underated talents like lendale white, Aj Trappasso and 300lb harris the back up center, i would definately keep these guys under wraps so i can snap them up at my next gig and look like a genius.

(if you dont believe me on the lendale white thing, look up titans in short yardage situations last year, then compare and contrast that to this year. you will be lucky to even find lendale white on the field let alone getting the ball in the first 4 games alone)

 

Maybe he fukd himself, by losing all those pounds. Lendale was never all that as a running back in my eyes.He fumbles the ball a lot also.
