ESPN's Sal Paolantonio reports that if ex-Patriots employee Matt Walsh is in possession of the Rams' walkthrough video from Super Bowl XXXVI, coach Bill Belichick will be suspended for one season.
Apparently commissioner Roger Goodell informed Belichick, upon fining him $500,000 and stripping the Patriots of a first-round pick, that a second strike would cost him an entire year. That means Belichick's last game before 2009 could be Super Bowl XLII. Interestingly, the Giants held their walkthrough Saturday, as regularly scheduled. The Pats did not hold a walkthrough.

How much is that tape worth? If there is one. Kraft would buy it just to make this issue disappear. He has a ton, I mean a ton of money invested in the Foxborough Stadium and surounding economic development projects. BUT I do not think this tape exists.
 
It is interesting though like you say.

If he really wanted to screw the Pats he would have done this either mid to late season, or before the Pats first playoff game ..
 
If the Giants win , it will be because the Front 4 Pressure Brady ..

Just one more cheap, unsubstantiated shot at the Pats, designed to distract them.  Hasn't worked so far.  And it won't work today imo.
 
Patriots will be more focused than we have seen them in months today, they have redefined what "team" football is all about, this new "development" won't affect the outcome/effort in tonite's game whatsoever.

Buy the "rumor" and sell the news?  Not likely.  And if I am wrong, I'll admit it, but until PROOF of this smoking-gun "tape" is procured for the world to see, it's just noise.

I think this tape does exist. These rumors just don't come from out of the blue. The Pats have been caught more than once illegally video taping other teams. Once a cheater always a cheater. I believe that Goodell destroyed the evidence in hopes that spygate would dissappear. The Commish knows that scandels and cheating is not good for business (look at MLB) so he didn't want to dig to far in the past. I just think that there is more to this story that is available to the public but hopefully it will be. Lastly, f*ck those cheating Pats it easy to win when you know whats coming.

And the NFL does not want to turn this into a bad PR situation for the league which if this exists the PR nightmare for the almighty NFL would be amazing.

does anyone really think the pats are the only team to do this kind of thing? i'll bet half the teams in the league have pulled this shit at one time or another. dosen't make it right but everyone should stop acting like the pats are so evil. by the way, not that it has anything to do with a sports forum but if anyone thinks fox news is legitimate news reporting & solid journalism you must also think jerry springer is the equvalent of charlie rose & pro wrestling is real. has nothing to do with being liberal or conservative. it's just crap, amatuer reporting.

Pull the Superbowl victory and give it to the Rams.

Who knows if the spying helped, but it broke the rules and I am sure they DID do what is being reported.

If the evidence is there and the league doesnt either ban the coach and/or remove the Superbowl victory, what is that saying about cheating and dishonesty?

I'm calling my book to see if i can get a refund this is unbelievable who ever would have thought pro sports was fixed.  still hate new england, but come on.  everyone loved that red white and blue bullshit after the 9-11 tragedy. the american way if you can't beat em cheat, and cheat, and cheat, and cheat alright bill you can stop cheating they caught you.
