Hello Covers Community. Week 3 is here and I’m jumping in after taking last week off. Here is my situational play of the week…
I’m traveling to Florida and focused on a matchup of two teams that have started the season perfectly. One in the penthouse at 2-0 and one in the outhouse at 0-2. The Vikings have chalked up two wins both against divisional opponents. Now they go on the road, looking to win back to back games on grass fields. The home town Bucs have crapped themselves in games 1 & 2. Losing last week’s home opener vs the Browns should be incentive to come out and win this game on Sunday. The Bucs have also, ready, not covered the line in 12 straight contests. Am I out of my mind? Yes.
I don’t see the Vikings winning in the 88* heat on a grass field, on the road again, after two tough divisional games. I don’t see the Buccaneers losing two straight at home after an embarrassing loss last week. On the home team. Since there is really no benefit in the $$$ line, I’ve taken +1 1/2. Go Bakerneers!

Just cramming for Sunday’s tests and came up with another game that grabbed my attention. Two great friends square off with their teams facing off in Detroit tomorrow. Glenn and Campbell have the best and worst defensive units in the NFL after the first 2 weeks. Something will probably continue and my money is gonna be on the Motor City Kittie Kats defense. While digging into any history here, I found the following…
In his last two starts in Detroit, Geno Smith had thrown for 723 yards, with a 1-1 record while QB of Seattle.
That’s enough for me to invest a few pazoozas on the visitors at +6 1/2. Playing this separately from my Tampa pick.

Looks like the right play to me as well. The Bucs will be without their top 2 young draft picks on defense though, Bain and Trotter, Trotter has already shown me he's gonna be a force in this league, he's going to be missed. But it's on offense where Baker, Egbuka and company have to get it going and I believe they will. Yes, another hot, humid day in Tampa, just no rain delays please, that definitely hurt Tampa late last week!
