If anything, I think this type of thing will make the OL play ten times harder in honor of their coach. It's probably the only thing they have to offer outside of their condolences.
That's great. But it's playoffs. And Gmen are the dogs. No offense to the GB tragedy, but I don't think the OL will play "harder" than the Gmen DL. The fact that it's playoffs, and the Gmen have the massive challenge of facing the 15-1 defending champs is plenty of incentive for them.
Eli and co. have a potent passing game. GB is much weaker w/ the pass rush this year than last. Nicks and Cruz are good. Bradshaw/Jacobs are great runners. NYG has a healthy pass rush w/ Tuck, PP and Osi. And, I can't help but think the GB tragedy screwed up their preparation for this week.
On the flip side, GB has the world's greatest offense right now and Rodgers is virtually unstoppable. But that's virtually. A great front 4 will make any elite QB look like sh*t. I think the NYG will be able to do just enough on D to eek out the win.

Wow Thank God I found your post. It was a couple weeks ago when i was unsure of the Dallas Giant game then read your post on how the Giants would get killed so I quickly bailed the Giants-- just like I'm going to do today LOSER
Sammy Sunshine??? You're gonna bail on me?

The Giants also got their ass handed to them by the Skins twice and were not competitive in either game. I agree they are streaky. But I'll take Rodgers/a 15-1 team/and the defending champs who did this all on the road last year instead of a streaky team.
I agree about the front four not showing up in the stat sheet. But that is the primary argument the Giant backers are using to say they will get inside this number, if not win. The Giants front four can do little if Rodgers puts this team up 7-0 4 minutes into the game and Eli then has to respond before the floodgates open. Victor Cruz can only get behind the D so many times.
BTW, you should tell everyone backing the Giants here where you got +320 because that is the best I've seen, if it's still available (unlikely but even +300 is better than the +280 max that is out there now).

i made a thread last sunday laughing about the giants opening line being 9. i dont think it could have opened lower as i wouldnt have made it below 7 which i think is the best line
i got the line last sunday at +8.5 and +320 through a local book who has a website
if the giants can disrupt Rodgers with 4, the game will look very similar to what the Niners did yesterday to Brees however they rushed with 3 most of the game and did a great great job
as mentioned, the Giants are streaky...the Skins game late was after the big Dallas win and i think i had washington knowing the Giants wouldnt win the big one, then play up for a bottom dweller

WHAT?!??!
There's not a single Giants fan, even the myriad homers already in this thread, whole will back that statement.
Please, for all that's good and holy in the NFL, take it back immediately!

lets talk about recently ...runners have gone for 100 or more 5 of the last 6 with jacobs looking beter and better Think about the NOW not the beginning or middle of the season

I've seen you post two posts before, one a couple a weeks ago you took the the Cowboys against the Giants and you lost. The other was a playoff game where you took the Jets and you lost that one too. I've come to a conclusion that your picks suck...that is all!

Let's not downplay the Skins loss. They lost not once, but twice. And if they had won that game (like they should have), the Dallas game wouldn't have held so much weight. "Fool me once..."
The Niners were home yesterday like the Pack here and that stadium was ROCKING more than the Giants/A's World Series at Candlestick Park. That matters.
This -7.5 line is saying the Pack would be be -1.5 now at the Giants when they were -8 during the regular season. That's positively insane! The Packers have lost a single game in that stretch and haven't slowed down at all, beating a motivated Lions team with a back-up!

But you conveniently forgot my GOY last year which was ON the Giants vs. the Panthers in Week 1 which hit comfortably.
Short-term memory problems rearing their ugly head in this thread...

You seem like a good guy but I tailed your thinking on Jan. 1 when you crowned Dallas the division winners with an extravagant " no doubt " write-up. I'll take a pass.

It wasn't "No Doubt" write-up. I never said anything of the sort in that thread. None of my write-ups are free of doubt or locks. It's a sell for VALUE and value only. There is huge value in this line. It's like picking a stock. Buy LOW/Sell HIGH over the long-term and you will profit.

Jacobs may be gone next season. Is that a great, valued RB?

The fact that the line was bet down from 9 is more because of NY money than smart money going on the Giants. I live here all Ive been hearing is 07 from radio from bar talk from Gmen fans. When hit with a series of reasons why they wont even cover ,thats the response I get. Justt pull the trigger , was hoping for7 but I was just told by a book money late is starting to go Greenbay .So Im on the Packers..Simple reason Giants need to play there best and Greenbay has toplay bad, out of sync, not ready to play. U think? If both play there best Giants lose To much to ask for. Yesterday Lose Saints under Win Over Pats Today Ravens 1st half and total ov37.5

I believe it's every 6 years the suberbowl champ has repeated (Since NEP repeated). The streak of big game wins ends today IMO. Nice writeup. I'm on the Pack as well.

Hate to break it to you Mr. "New Yorker" but if you recall when the Giants went to Dallas (+4.5) and went to New England (+8.5) it was the same scenario regarding the spread. Everybody was unloading on the MoneyLine, and like you said, the points were a gift from God. Giants have won 4 out of their last 5, beating a more than decent team in the Falcons. I cant remember the last time Rodgers has stepped on to the field. Look for the Packers to come out flat, and if the Giants jump on them early they have a shot. The 7.5 is a gift.
PS- Not for nothing, but you're play of the year posts aren't that trustworthy anyway.. Pretty sure you picked the Cowboys +3 over the Giants.. You just never learn, do you?
