I do not think that the NFL cares who win or loses their wager but I do think they care if people think that the games are fixed. Two out of the last four plays impacted that spread. The holding call and the lateral. Why would the referee even give a crap about that touchdown after the game ended? Why not just let it stand? This is the reason the NFL is lobbying so hard to shut down gambling. I am sure they can withstand a gambler like me thinking the game is fixed but I do not think they want gambling legal because there would be a lot more bettors and a lot more people crying fix. The NFL needs gamblers to watch games. Who else watches a garbage Monday night game to the end besides a gambler?
Maybe we should try a different approach. Instead of complaining about UIGEA, we should write to our congressman/woman to ban fantasy sports too because that makes our youth start gambling early in life. I am being facetious here but the point is that the NFL is allowing gambling (to their liking FANTASY) and denying the gambling to my liking. They are having their cake and eating it too!!!
