Grabbing Vick was a way for them to make their "product" better. At the end of the day this is a business. In order to ensure that you stay @ or near the top, teams need to draft wisely (high picks help) and spend wisely in FA. For example, they let Dawkins walk, Denver OVERPAID the guy plain and simple. Most Eagle fans and I'm guessing by what I've read from a couple of those buffoons here, still think it was a bad move. It was BUSINESS. They are 11-4, and in the playoffs. It couldn't have been that bad of a move.
Getting back to Vick. Some franchise had to take the initial "PR hit". The Eagles have done that. They weathered the initail storm, it also helped that they have a bonafide upper echelon QB. Never was there any question about him actually being a starter.
If you don't think that 2 teams out there will be interested, well then son you're bulb is much dimmer than I originally thought. If 2or 3 teams get into the mix, that is how they get the 2nd or 3rd pick--the Eagles can then sit back and let the bidding begin.
