Andy Reid is too conservative to jump a lead on this NE defense. If the Chiefs get behind and Alex Smith is forced to throw medium/deep, it could get ugly. When was the last time the Chiefs were behind and had to air it out?
First of all Summa, Excellent analysis and yes, I do think it was a win-win situation from Belichick's perspective. Week 16 and 17 were calculated flops in my opinion (as well as resting some key defensemen)
So what they gave up home field advantage to who....the Broncos? At the time, Steelers were suppose to be healthy and would have rolled the Broncos....ok, so he now faces a very overrated KC team who some of you say is hot. Look at their opposition during this "heater", there is none!
Steelers were the only real threat to the Patriots, and they should have beat the Pats in Week 1, had they had a kicker worth a damn.
