    I'm playing

    KC +5
    KC TT o18.5

NE may be the better team but KC is the hotter team. I believe the game ends with either team winning by 3. Really think NE taking it easy the last week of the season puts them in a tough spot. Believing that NE was resting their players for 4 weeks really doesn't make any sense. The team was banged up and it showed.

The Patriots have scored over 30 points since wk 8 and we're supposed to believe they just turn it on? We've seen them do it before.  Edelman will be back but is he up to game speed? Can he make cuts like he was before? We have issuing surfacing with the black eye, Chandler Jones, Gronk's knee, Tom's ankle.

If the book hung -2.5 like I believe they should have then everyone is on NE. Not seeing -7.5 or -8.5 that others have mentioned. Instead we end up at 5 and a fairly even split.

    Suuma GL today partner...

Interesting stat, KC's last 7 opponents combined record is 38-84.  Their defense has faced some real offensive firepower (Cleveland, Baltimore, SD twice, Buffalo without its starter)

Just think KC defense is a tad overrated.  Not saying their not a solid unit but stats are inflated.

    STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE according to football-reference SRS, KC +1.6 - Pats -2.4 = a 4 pt difference.

Since 2000 teams with a 2.8 diff or better the stronger schedule team is 9-3 ATS.

What evidence do you bring to the table that a team's last 7 games are a better indicator then all 16 opps ?

And they match up brilliantly with the Chiefs. They have the front seven to slow down the Chiefs' running and short passing game. They are also very good vs. tight ends. That's all the Chiefs got on offense. Their only threat for medium or deep passes is Maclin who is Q to play and the Pats will be able to double him. And it's still Alex Smith and his OL who have a terrible matchup.

I am not worried about the Chiefs defense. If I have learned just one thing in the past it's that a good secondary is completely useless vs the Pats. Look at last years SB or the first Jets game this year. I've got tremendous respect for Josh McDaniels and his play-calling. They will find ways to exploit this KC defense with Edelman and Chandler back.

Andy Reid is too conservative to jump a lead on this NE defense. If the Chiefs get behind and Alex Smith is forced to throw medium/deep, it could get ugly. When was the last time the Chiefs were behind and had to air it out?

First of all Summa, Excellent analysis and yes, I do think it was a win-win situation from Belichick's perspective.  Week 16 and 17 were calculated flops in my opinion (as well as resting some key defensemen)

So what they gave up home field advantage to who....the Broncos?  At the time, Steelers were suppose to be healthy and would have rolled the Broncos....ok, so he now faces a very overrated KC team who some of you say is hot.  Look at their opposition during this "heater", there is none!

Steelers were the only real threat to the Patriots, and they should have beat the Pats in Week 1, had they had a kicker worth a damn.

    * Mystic whatever your name is, calling someone who is giving analysis Manure completely discredits you to most.  You might be a good handicapper, but your commentary didn't add anything to the discussion or give any of us any insight.  You want to act like a butt hurt woman, do so elsewhere please.  Alot of us are trying to learn, and not hate.

Summa, thanks again for taking the time Brother

Lastly, if we are to assume Belichick was ducking the Steelers, does this mean we like Pitt +7.5? Against Manning who has proven to play horribly in near freezing temps and is notorious for choking it up in the playoffs?

Take a look at their early schedule, loss to GB, Cincy, Denver and MN.  I'm just saying KC is a solid team but their record is over rated I believe.  IMO

What evidence do you bring to the table that a team's last 7 games are a better indicator then all 16 opps ?

Chiefs win.   Pats won't be able to cheat, no eligle recievers, deflated balls etc.  If you think godell  will let them make the super bowl you are dreaming.  The refs will favor kc big time. Bradys punishment from nfl happens today.   Chiefs are peaking, pats are not.
