The Patriots are on four weeks of rest!
Do not look at their recent losses. It was the genius of Bill Belichick to get his players healthy for the playoffs. They started resting players in week 16. McCourty, Chung, Vollmer, Edelman, Chandler, Jones, Hightower, ect will all be back. And they match up brilliantly with the Chiefs. They have the front seven to slow down the Chiefs' running and short passing game. They are also very good vs. tight ends. That's all the Chiefs got on offense. Their only threat for medium or deep passes is Maclin who is Q to play and the Pats will be able to double him. And it's still Alex Smith and his OL who have a terrible matchup.I am not worried about the Chiefs defense. If I have learned just one thing in the past it's that a good secondary is completely useless vs the Pats. Look at last years SB or the first Jets game this year. I've got tremendous respect for Josh McDaniels and his play-calling. They will find ways to exploit this KC defense with Edelman and Chandler back.Andy Reid is too conservative to jump a lead on this NE defense. If the Chiefs get behind and Alex Smith is forced to throw medium/deep, it could get ugly. When was the last time the Chiefs were behind and had to air it out?

Chiefs being overlooked ,based on past years performances of Pats is a mistake .I only look at this team this year ,obvious write ups by fans always try to sway the stats in there favor .I'm a fan of betting ,.I do root for the Jets but will bet against them like I did last game of the year ,when the spot is favorable
The Pats have had a week off ,but there starting team has not played a game all together in 4 weeks ,that's a problem, The notion of them being rested is a fan angle. Fact is they haven't played well in weeks they lost to some bad teams who didn't make the playoffs .The Chiefs on the other hand are playing efficient football ,who does not turn the ball over ,they don't beat themselves and has the weapons is year ,which they haven't had in years .Defensivly they match up great with the Pats banged up O line ,that is the main reason Pats have faltered last few games .Brady scrambling ,Brady under pressure is how they get beat ..Would love to see Chiefs win outright most would love the cheaters to loose at home ,but IMO taking the points is the play

Great read. I was wondering when was the last time they lost 3 straight?

Resting players for 4 weeks has not done well for teams.

Why do most no all Patriot fans make up excuses every time the Patriots lose? fans of other teams accept their loss and move on to the next game, Stop with the excuses you sound like sore losers.

I think its too easy to take the NE team -5, KC's D have the pass rush to get to Brady, and we all know what QB pressure means to this NE O, I doubt anyone can cover Gronk but I do not see Edlemen doing what he did to start the year off, coming back from a broke foot and not seeing any game reps won't be easily adjusted in a playoff game. Not saying KC's D will dominate NE's O but i dont think the miss match is more than 60/40. On the flip side, KC's lost of Maclin will hurt them no doubt, but I actually like the fact Conley and Wilson will get more reps, its really set a balance factor on the whole O and make NE cover the whole field, where as if Maclin were to play, we all know NE will game plan around stopping someone, but I think the KEY FACTOR is Alex Smith, dude is balling, throwing and running this year, put that with baby Gronk aka Travis K, and the always effective running game, I think this game might be more evenly matched than first thoughts.
Krazz I totally get behind your logic. There is just one thing that only counts for the Patriots: Since their loss at KC in 2014, it didn't matter which OL they had, they learned how to play around their weaknesses. Josh McDaniels and Bill Belichick have worked out a playbook and a style of offense that allows them to torch every defense. In the 2014 playoffs, they already had a questionable OL and faced a great pass rush in the Ravens and Seahawks - they scored 28+ points. This season they started with 2-3 ROOKIES on their OL who also changed their positions. It didn't matter!
Jets, Bills, Dolphins, Steelers, Redskins, Texans, Broncos - their fewest points were 24
They scored 24 at Denver against probably the best pass rush in the league after Edelman, Amendola and Lewis went down when I remember right.

Summa you are correct to not look at recent losses. Last week they clearly had one foot in and one foot out can't play like that and win. They have been completely dialing down play calling. Amendola has only played on 3rd downs. And ran nothing underneath where he usually operates. Gronk hasn't ran a seam route in weeks - to keep him healthy. They are focused on the second season and will be ready. As others have pointed out only worry is sharpness and chemistry as they haven't played in a game together at full strength in a long time. i honestly don't think they need Edelman this week vs Chiefs as I believe Chiefs are going to have trouble scoring this week. Pats will take Kelce away and macklin is prob out. If Edelman is healthy like pats by 10
