I still think he plays, it should be noted that this may be good for the saints, sometimes it is hard to pull your studs and they be hurting the team at 70%
As I stated at the beginning, TO ME, the man is a difference maker. He will be in the HOF one day, I do not think Brock will be. I am going to take the aints now, this line may now drift down some if the news indicates he wont play. I am guessing he plays but not very well. These fuckers (torn ATF) hurt as an injury and no amount of marcaine will fix the unsure feeling he will have. He will not be the same guy at two weeks I would guess. If he is........wow, what a lift for the team in blue!!!
I still think he should play the Left side, I wonder if this happens?? Would not be the biggest shocker in the world.

I have not heard any updates on Freeney, anyone have the lastest?
I saw the colts overall record with him and without him and there was no difference in ppg, ypg etc. HOWEVER, ESPN failed to mention the teams. To me, it is hard to believe the man does not make a difference but maybe that is so. For the sake of great capping, anyone have the colts ATS with and without the Man. They may have got some Lions type teams w/o him to make those stats look good.

Crash... i think they are treating him rigorously with a hyperbaric chamber... i think you should expect that he will play in a limited role... he will be used in very particular situations, and depending on how well he does or doesn't perform early on, you might see him used a bit more heavily in the 4th quarter when the game is on the line... but the way they have talked, and he has talked in particular, it is clear that the injury would keep him out of just about any other game, given the same recovery time, but that they are going to use every measure and every piece of technology they can to speed up the recovery time...
not much help from a capping standpoint, but it's what we have to go with...

"It's better than yesterday, and yesterday was better than the day before," Freeney said (Wednesday). "It's a slow progression right now, but that's where it is. Every morning I wake up, and it feels a little better." -- https://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs/2009/news/story?id=4882978
I agree with Marshall Faulk that Freeney will play in SB, it's a matter of how much efective he will be. Terrell Owens of the Eagles came back from torn ACL and played without 100% in SB against Pats but he was still pretty effective in that game, and we know Eagles did cover that spread.

just to pat myself of the back, this thread was started before this was news. You can see the initial posts stating he plays no doubt etc.
The latest is that many (not all) feel the late money on the aints is for this injury.........and Freeney will practice tomorrow to test the ankle.
I can already tell you, practice will not be good. Yet, when he takes the shot for the game, it will be a little better. :)

looking back at the Colts w/o Freeney. It may be true that they are 8-0 without him but ATS they are not as good. In 2007 he missed the last 7 games of the year and the playoff LOSS TO SD , there they went 3-5 or 3-6 ATS in those games. That is counting the SD game where he was injured. THAT IS COUNTING THE LAST GAME OF THE YEAR WHERE INDY RESTED THE STARTERS THE SECOND HALF and of course lost the game that is counting the playoff game they lost (outright) with Manning at QB and being 10.5pt favorites.
FYI
take it for what it is worth....![]()

This is a dream...This is a serious injury. The colts themselves are preparing to play without him.
