If Miami is one dimensional, what are the Jets?

'Miami played a tough game they should have won, but lost. That type of loss really hurts.'

8 of Miami's 11 games have been decided by 4 points or less. Every game they lose is a tight one and the only game all year they came out flat was after their bye at home vs Buffalo, and MNF vs TB.

I don't care about Miami's last 6 games against the Jets. Geno Smith has played in zero of those games and Tannehill only 1 (Matt Moore played most of the jets game last year when Tannehill was injured)

Not sure how you can read everything Scal and I are saying and 'like the jets more' thats ridiculous. I'm done with this thread till after the game. If Miami wins all the jets backers will vanish, and if the jets win they will be here to gloat.

Miami is the better team, with the better QB, and playing better football.....but go ahead and take the Jets laying a point.

Scalabrine I actually do appreciate ur write up lol. I wasn't asking for more from you. The first thing I said was Great Write Up. And I wasn't joking. And I did the research for the other side. So I decided to post it into this thread so that whoever read it could look at both arguments and make their decision as far as what the best play is. Powell really isn't that bad. But I see this game being more of a defensive battle than anything. Rex Ryan can get his team prepared for big games and this is definitely a big game for them. Anyway like I said initially great write up. Very much appreciated. Please keep em coming

I will see you both after the game! Good luck! I tried to open your eyes. If I am wrong then I will be back here to admit I read the game wrong. Which does happen lol. But I just didn't appreciate you basically calling me a donkey. Especially when I'm up over 8k this season. I normally never post. I just read these forums. So posting is new to me. But I feel like this was good for the thread. A lot of good points in here. Anyway see you Sunday!

I'm not calling you a donkey, but from your initial post it seemed most of the stuff you were relying on were their early season wins over NE and NO. A lot of people really do cap games like that and it's extremely stupid. Not saying you are one of those guys but that was my first impression and I guess it was wrong.

This is only the 3rd time I am pounding Miami this year. Week 1 vs Cleveland was the 1st time, and week 7 vs the Bills off a bye was the other, and that game was a disaster.

The only position on the field the Jets have advantage is O-line, and a slight advantage D-line..everything else Miami is superior to the Jets..Also if you think this is going to be a big defensive battle, you should know Miami has the best punter in the NFL, Brandon Fields.

Golly Gee! Thanks sooooooooo much Scal. You just gave me the play of the weekend. I was gonna read the write up, but taking a golf vacation in June and didn't have the time.

When I cap a game I literally look as deep into both sides as I can. So far this year I have been right about Miami when I bet them. Against cinci and last week against carolina (had them at +4.5). I'm leaning jets here but I normally don't finalize my picks til Sunday an hour before the game. Anyway I might be due a loss since I got the first two Miami bets right lol. Who knows. This might turn into a no play for me strictly for the reason that it's very possible this game could go either way. Good luck to you wake and scal. If jets win I won't be back to brag. If Miami wins I'll be back to admit I made a bad read

When I cap a game I literally look as deep into both sides as I can. So far this year I have been right about Miami when I bet them. You are always welcome to offer a counter-opinion and thanks for doing so. It makes for a healthier viewpoint/stance/thread.

Vegas has the Jets pegged for 6.5 wins this year. Given their schedule the rest of the way, this game will likely decide that OU.

Had Miami beaten Carolina last weekend, I wouldn't like this spot nearly as much but coming off a devastating lads like that and fighting for a playoff spot, I'll take Miami, their QB and their talent over the Jets on the road instead of laying 5.5/6 at home.

It's a really rough spot for the Jets given their downslide the last few weeks.

Good luck and again, contribute whenever you feel an opposing view should be made.

That is not a reason to bet them, that is, your faith that somehow Rex Ryan is going to will this team to victory. That is completely square thinking and the reason why the books get action in the Jets.

You have a detailed write-up 39 posts before this one. You chose to read it (I would hope). It is researched and was written by someone who has a lifelong connection with the Jets.

After all that, you say, 'Jets get it done.' Ok. Worse, you're wearing what appears to be a Redskins jersey so you have little knowledge of who this team is and what they will bring on Sunday.

    1 for 31.

Remember that when your head hits the pillow Sunday night....

Well maybe you're right I was just giving my thoughts. Miami I don't trust, Jets bounce back at home. They played Carolina great last week because Carolina had a hang over from beating the pats on MNF and didn't care about anything but getting the win. I'm not saying the Jets are god I'm saying they've played better at home and the ball seems to bounce their way. But maybe you're right I wouldn't be shocked to see Miami win this whole division is bad. So since it's your mega lock and you're so confident bet the house and we can bump this thread after the game Tannehill can't lose he's elite.

And on a side note stats are overrated in games like this so your 1-31 is meaningless.

The jets are horrible and I see where he's coming from Miami has cashed as a +-3 but they just played the bill then the ravens on the road. Not surprising they're a bad road team. Bad team period but after two road losses now playing at home against Miami theylle play better. The spreads also getting bet down by the public. It's at -2.5 right now and may keep dropping. Makes me like the Kets even more. Everyone jumping on imam because of the Carolina game and everyone jumping off the jets because of the ravens game....

Good writeup and insight, Scal, but I don't know about Miami in this one. With all their problems at O-line and playing a decent Jets defense that will completely shut down the anemic run game Miamj has, i just don't trust this Dolphin team on the road.

The Jets and especially Geno have looked more or less HORRIBLE the last few weeks, but they do play better ball at home, and I just wouldn't be surprised if the Jets hammer them here in this spot. I'm passing on the game, but I will root you on. BOL.

    Scal,

Out of curiosity, who else are you liking this weekend?  Like I said, I will be in Vegas and will be looking for a few winners. Last trip I had was a month ago and it was very successful in terms poker. But my 2-4 NFL wagers is what put in the red for the trip instead of the GREEN.

    I enjoy your thorough writeups.

    Thanks.

I really think the home game works against the Jets here.

Fans will boo this guy out of the building on the first TO. They did it to Sanchez and wrecked him psychologically. They will do it to Geno and would do it to Brady if he was a jet. Jet fans do not care. Many are quite classless and have no problem miring in their own misery.

Yes jets have a very good ATS at home but Geno and the entire offense is reeling. You just can't put your Money on them given that.

I see this as being a 14-10 game at worst and the jets will get the ball on their own 20 with 2 minutes left and will get one first down and then get stopped. Game over.

Like the boys/giants game I posted, it won't be an easy win but there are simply too many reasons to take the fins here.

Right now I am looking at KC hard and that line just keeps rising and rising in KC's favor as expected.

I am also looking at Houston. The most perplexing line of the year was last week Houston -10 over the jags and I didn't have the guts to take Jax.

This line outdoes that one opening at -7.5 in terms of being confounding. I am trying to find reasons to take the texans and am still studying it. After that SNF pats win, this line could be -13 and the public would still pound the pats so I can't see why they'd open it so low...

So I am still looking and studying after this game

Play poker? Nice! 1-2NL 2-5nl or higher?

You don't think Ed Reed petitioning for Fireman Ed to come out of retirement will get the home crowd's head in the right place?
I swear to Christ the NY media gets worse and worse every day that goes by.

You are right about Jet fans wallowing in their own misery. 4-5 of my best friends in life are hardcore Jet fans and they are terrible as fans. I guess if a young QB in his rookie year isn't Tom Brady right off the bat, he's awful and deserves to be booed and run off the team. You know because the list of QB's that are all pros right off the bat is a giant list.
