Bob Scucci has been dead on with the occasional pick he gives out on the behind the bets podcast.  According to him, if he had a gun to his had and had to pick one game this game this week to win, he would take the jets over Miami.

I listen to Chad Millman and I heard him say that.

So you will take the word of a bookmaker who needs a certain side to win or might want to balance money better on both sides, knows tens of thousands of people listen to that podcast, and you think he will consistently give out a blurb win at the end of the podcast for the public to come to his window and bet on a team he recommended that will LOSE him money????

Also he said weather will be a factor? If anything, weather would be a factor AGAINST Geno, not FOR the Jets because they play in Miami.

I will put my lifelong knowledge of the Jets up against Bob Scucci 7 days a week. He is not the almighty Oz when it comes to capping.

The wrong team is favored here.

I'll have Bib Scucci's money when all is said and done. A lot of it too...

    Thanks Bob

Jets defensive line will dominate.  You are wrong on this one.

Yeah I agree I was on Miami past two weeks and have made a lot money this year betting with and against them. I have a good bead on these teams. Jets at home get it done.

Interesting. They 'get it done' huh?

That is not a reason to bet them, that is, your faith that somehow Rex Ryan is going to will this team to victory. That is completely square thinking and the reason why the books get action in the Jets.

You have a detailed write-up 39 posts before this one. You chose to read it (I would hope). It is researched and was written by someone who has a lifelong connection with the Jets.

After all that, you say, 'Jets get it done.' Ok. Worse, you're wearing what appears to be a Redskins jersey so you have little knowledge of who this team is and what they will bring on Sunday.

    1 for 31.

Remember that when your head hits the pillow Sunday night....

I wonder how many TD's and FG's the Jets defensive line will score on Sunday...

It's one side of the ball...

Your worry should be on the other and it should be a damn big worry....

So not much was needed by smith but the reason i bring this up is because miamis rush defense is pathetic. This is a great spot for jets to bounce back after two straight road losses. Jets run d is amazing but Miami doesn't run the ball anyway. Normally you would think that would just be a non factor but I believe that plays better into the gameplan for the jets. They know Miami can't run. So they can focus more on stopping tanehill. So basically what I'm saying is. If jets are able to establish the run and limit how many times Geno has to throw. I think they win by at least 3. Shoot, if they can beat NO and NE at home then don't be surprised if they dominate Miami. They made brees and Brady one dimensional. Miami is already one dimensional. Take the pass away and Miami will be looking like the jets of the last two weeks.

People, this is exactly how you should cap a game if you want to go broke.

The Jets beat the Pats and the Saints early in the year at home, so how can they not beat the Dolphins?

You say the Dolphins run defense is pathetic. I bet you don't know that Miami's nose tackle and one of the best run stoppers in the NFL, Paul Solai missed some games this year and thats when the bulk of the rushing yards against them too place. Miami has also had injuries to their second best run stopper, Randy starks and Cameron Wake also missed time on the defensive line. Another reason Miami's run D has been alittle suspect is because they can't really crowd the box because they need to help over the top because Nolan Carroll has played a lot. They won't need to do that this game because Jets has a bad QB and no deep threat.

Miami's D line is at full strength, and when that is the case they are strong against the run. They also struggle against small backs who have speed to the outside. The Jets have a pound it up the middle type run offense and this is exactly what Miami stops best because of Solai and Starks ability.

Scalabrine is dead right the Jets will have very few scoring oppurtunities and if Miami's defense plays like they did last week vs Carolina, (where they shut down Cam Newton and company for 57 minutes) the Jets will score 3 points, like they did last week

You're right. He did start behind center for the NO game.

You think he did great huh?

He didn't. He threw for 115 yards and ran for 18. His passer rating was 62 in that game. He was sacked twice and only completed 42 percent of his passes.

But wait, what about the NE game!?!?

He had a better game throwing for 230 but only completed 52% of his passes and was sacked twice, fumbled twice and had one INT.

His passer rating? Not all that great at 71. The jets are not winning because of him.

The jets got the win on the ground with Ivory burning his ex team and Rex beating his brother.

The NE game was the most impressive win of the season and the jets still needed a penalty that had never been called in the history of the NFL to win that one.

We all need to take a step back and stop mythologizing these wins for our benefit when we want to back a team.

    Geno's past 5 games TD/INT passing ration? 8 INT's 1 TD (2 rushing TD's), 4 fumbles (one lost), sacked 16 times!

In two to the most important games of the season to hold onto the 6 seed he passes for 127 and 40% and 103 and 38% with 6 turnovers.

His starting running back is a gimp and might not play this Sunday.

WHERE IS YOUR OFFENSE if you are betting on the Jets? Bilal Powell??? He's not even your starting RB. He's run for 41, 36 and 29 in his last three. Not a world beater by any means.

And of Geno gets pulled, oh boy. GAME OVER.

I can't believe someone would put money on a team that can have it's starting QB pulled at any moment. Want to see how that works out? Look to the Texans...they can't even beat the crappy Jags.

There is only one play here and it's sitting on a silver platter.

Miami is 2 and 3 on the road, lets look alittle deeper.

week 1 @ cle: Miami beats a team they have more talent that 23-10..(this weeks game reminds me much of their week 1 matchup)

week 3 @ Indy: Big win

week 4 @ NO: How many teams in the NFL can go into the Dome on MNF and beat the Saints..1?..2? maybe...It was a tight game right before half until Miami turned it over, losing the turnover battle 4-0.

week 7 @ NE: Miami was winning 17-3, until Dimitri Patterson got hurt and then Nolan Carroll got burnt twice and Fins lose 27-17.

week 9 @ TB. This is the game TB started to play good football. Miami was down 15-0, come all the way back to take a 19-15 lead and then blow it late and lose 22-19.

Not sure how you can look at those games and say Miami sucks on the road, and nothing you see says the Jets should win this game or handle Miami.

And to add to that,  the Tampa game was with a red hot incognito national spotlight on them during MNF.

Winless Tampa at home with Schiano's job in the line.

    Tough tough spot...

EarthWake I dont remember once in my post saying I was taking the jets... Do u? The only point I was trying to make was that scalabrines write up was very one sided. I believe to cap a game you need to have looked at every angle from both sides. All his arguments favor Miami. So I just wanted to let it be known to everyone who reads this post that the jets aren't as bad as he is making them seem at home. And when did I say the jets will win because they beat No and Ne at home? I gave u the explanation of how they could win this game. With their defense and running game. The wins against No and Ne were just examples. And Miami keeping it close with Carolina was no surprise either. I slammed mia last week. Because Carolina was in a bad spot. I feel like the dolphins are in a bad spot this week but this isn't a game I'm really that interested in anyway.

Scalabrine when did I say geno smith did great in those games that they beat No and Ne?? My point was that when the jets can RUN the ball effectively they don't need geno to do a damn thing cuz their defense is strong enough to make up for him not being efficient.

Why is this a bad spot for Miami?

Miami kept it close last week vs Carolina because they played GREAT DEFENSE

    Very one sided?

Listen, I can't write a book for you detailing the pros and cons if both teams in every post. I can only dedicate so much of my time to a thread.

I give you the meat and you still want the bone.

Finding the bone is your job and the NE game and NO game are not the bone as I detailed in post 44.

They can run the ball? The jets starting RB might not play and if he does, he might not be effective. Their backup is not impressive by any means.

Their defense gave up 49 points to Cincy , 37 to the Bills and have and have been faltering.

These are myths you are passing off as empirical fact and I am trying to get you off this square-type thinking.

They did play great defense last week which is more of a reason to not take them this week. They played a tough game and should have won. But lost. That type of loss really hurts. And its really more of a good spot for the jets than it is a bad spot for Miami. Jets coming back home after two road losses facing a Miami team who is COMPLETELY one dimensional. You can't tell me that doesn't scare you just a little bit...

Just look at the jets most recent games between them and Miami. WLWLWL. they have alternated wins with Miami the last 6 in a row. All I'm saying is there are a lot of scary things about this game. But now the more I talk about it, the more I like the jets. Still don't know if I will play this game. But just be careful is all I'm saying. I feel like it could go either way
