And thanks Stump. Everything you’ve said is littered throughout this thread but you summed it up well (and of course, no one who SHOULD read such a summary will...)

It's certainly a classic, but Scal has had so many of these great comebacks that's it's hard to say.

I believe Seattle under 7.5 was a little risky going in I don’t make those bets because teams change so unexpectedly, who saw the Bears coming ? When you have a scrambling Russell Wilson and a very good head coach I’m thinking at worst they will find a way to be 8-8 spooky bet IMO I can’t argue with your reasons however. I guess that’s why I don’t make those wagers.

"A loss is a loss. Period. Which is why I always bring up poker. These cappers play the KQ offsuit against pocket AA’s hit two pair on the flop and think they are geniuses."

    This is low key GOLD.

We share that silver tongue my friend and irrespective of the nonsense, you're going to make it and you know you are... Let's not overact and equate covers banter with the nadir of America as if 90% of us are something so amazing. The fact is - Donald Trump was elected President, full stop, end of arguement... beyond the seaboards, significant segments of my/our/your beloved country are what you and I despise.... It's the 'other' side that makes us so beautiful... I fully agree with your arm put noise and paper airplanes (I call them interbred rednecks)... Bottom line - the trolls are looking for quick fixes to either pay their own betting debts or make a quick buck and lash out because well, they are interbred rednecks... It's sad stuff but it will never change

And to those that keep commenting on this thread and revisiting Seattle win total, get the eff over it, it's a loss, move on

Titus, I hear what you are saying and yes I am saying more of what you are saying than what I think about covers.

The fact is, for me, I do not mind those looking for quick fixes. But in the process, learn the basics of Capping 101 (which I lay out in my OP's and through discussion) and apply that to your caps in the future. Because Covers will not always exist. Because how many guys can you REALLY trust on here (even me, where I am more misses than hits of late).

The point is to help the capper make their own decisions through the same classic or modern capping playbook.

But to troll those threads after losses??? Come on.

BB, the gentleman in your avatar has an entire restaurant themed around him.Literally everything inside. Pretty neat. I see you in there one day. Right around Penn Station.

Melos, that's the great Phil Hellmuth.

This is the best Hellmuth meltdown ever:

Seattle under their season win total was absolutely a smart bet before the season began. Anyone who denies that is either delusional or not being honest with themselves.

I don't recall seeing any threads on this forum last summer that recommended betting Seattle over their total.

Thanks doctor. The guy who even BLURBED it was a bad play back then can speak freely, never mind an actual thread refuting my play!

Oh Melos, Hellmuth is must see tv in the US.

That hand above in particular, running it four times (they did this as a concession to the amateur so he could win 1/4 of the pot. Hellmuth wants to stay in the good graces of the public because he has a “brand” outside of the game), is incredibly unusual.

    And to lose 3 of the 4 as a 75%-ish favorite .

You couldn’t  have scripted it any better with the best player to have in that situation.

There is ONE guy actually worse than Hellmuth when it comes to blowing up and berating players.

His name is Tony G. Speaks for itself!

oh,i was wondering what the hell they were doing after that wiggins guy lost the hand..so that extra row of flips was purely a charity move on phils part??i dont even know the basic rules of the game and had never seen that before...weird that he would do it with all that loot on the line, like maybe in a charity event or something i could understand...he wasnt happy though,hehe...still nice of hum to end up throwing the other guy a bone.haha

so you definitely never in your life seen his name as Phil Helmuth??so odd to me,now his name practically looks like his character/personality,as in hell-mouth,right??and i always spell names out in my head in a mnemonic way if at all possible.

LOL Scal, whether you stay or go doesn't matter to me. Staying would not remotely piss me off.

    You’re right in part.

It’s not a “charity move” per se, but it’s a way to lessen variance.

So they “run it 4 times” so that Wiggins doesn’t suck out on Phil in one hand. The 4 times is almost guaranteeing Wiggins a quarter of the pot at his odds. Running it X times (usually twice, 4 was unusual) happens in today’s cash games. There is SO much money in a pot, usually hundreds of thousands, the other guy doesn’t want you to spike an ace on the river to complete a straight and scoop the entire thing. Wouldn’t it be great if sports gambling had such an agreement???

    Hell mouth. I like that.

    Here’s another good Hellmuth hand:

i think that was a super bowl preview, same teams, same outcome.

10 wins maybe? why no line yet for hawks? -10?
