    yeh, this one is over.

Amazing turn around by the Seahawks. I never saw it coming and Wilson is arguably tied for the MVP as of right now.

The OP and many others forgot that the Seahawks have a Hall of Fame QB. To think they’d go anything less than 8-8 would be highly questionable.

    After the fact.

Where are you guys prior to the NFL season kick off?

Always telling others what they should have bet when the results have eventually panned out.

Yes, Wilson is a hall of fame quarterback but brilliant teams eventually topple into obscurity (unless your the Pats) and the Seahawks were one of a few predicted to drop off this season.

    Bobby...you are 100% correct.

Life is made up of haves and have nots...rich and poor, educated and ignorant, elites and bottom dwellers...and here on covers, those that do and those that dont.

For the 5% club who posts picks and offers genuine insight, there is the 95% club who simply come here for their own self agenda...whether its to be hindsight harry, donald downer, fixed fred, broke ben, thomas the troll, andy the auditor, the list is endless.

Scal posts his honest takes, as do i, as do many guys here...whether we are right or wrong, its never going to satisfy the insane asylum whack jobs that come here to cut someone down after a loss...they are no where to be found on winning plays because they are too busy punching holes in their trailer walls when people here are winning.

Best to ignore them all like LC does, or make an example of one and beat them up like a rag doll with words and wit.

Not many people, myself included, saw this level of success from Seattle this season...i think with Jimmy G doing down, that gave Seahawks life and an extra 2 wins...Russell has proven just how insanely talented he is as a player and as a leader of men...i saw this special talent in him that one season at Wisconsin...the kid was a man even back then...and say what you will about Pete The Jaw Carroll, the man can coach up dog poo and turn it into a decent rib eye steak.

Let’s break this down shall we?

Jimmy G down is a good point. 2 wins for Seattle right there without even batting an eyelash. That is a MAJOR injury for this total.

Also the following coin flips did not go our way:

    1) In week 4 in josh rosen’s First start, Arizona missed a game winner with 1:55 left to go up 20-17. Seattle reverses field and kicks the game winner as time expires.

    2-2 instead of 1-3

    2) up 14-3, Green Bay leads every second of the game and finally gives it up late in the 4th. The infamous 4th and 2 punt occurs and GB never gets the ball back.

    5-5 instead of 4-6

    3) Carolina up 27-20 gives up a 35 years Hail Mary to Seattle on 4th and 3 with 3:23 left, 27-27. Carolina Drives downfield and like Arizona misses the game winner. Seattle reverses field and kicks the game winner.

6-5 instead of 5-6 and the 7.5 is still alive.

So you need ALL the coin flips above AND Jimmy G going down to cover the 7.5, because if Seattle goes to 1-3 or 4-6, season over.

All in all you’re a moron if you bet Seattle. There, I said it. Even though you won, you lost. Because you’re the guy that loses it all in a few days anyway.

    Thank your lucky stars.

The proof is in the pudding folks. I’m tired of guys backdooring wins and thinking they are the shi* or pounding on those who get backdoored.

Admit when you are fortunate and don’t delude yourself.

And hustle, get a life. How long did it take for you to find this thread? Why don’t you bump the SMU winner?

SMU RSW wins Purdue RSW pushes and Seattle loses

1-1-1 on season win totals. God, how awful.

God, how awful.

the following coin flips did not go our way:

    1) excuses

    2) blame greenbay who sucks and wont get 7 wins this year

    3) blame Carolina. seattle busted their behind every play like they do, especially late in the game, and beat a garbage team that will lose out

Because a bet like that is like getting on a motorcycle when you don't even know how to ride a bike.

You may get to the end of the block (i.e., Hey I won!) but your face meeting a telephone poll is your ultimate fate (i.e., "Uhhhh where did all my money go???!!).

I'll give you the Jimmy G comment for sure but points 1-3...idk bro, that is football. Games turn on a dime, crazy sh!t always happens. You can argue a couple of their losses should have been wins if it weren't for crazy stuff going on in those games. But Jimmy G a legit point. I personally don't play season totals for that reason. For those hitting season totals, well done!

Points 1 to 3 matter. 2 missed game winners matter. Jimmy G matters. A coach who punted the ball and was fired for his incompetence matters.

    It all matters.

These are all RAZOR thin bets. There are only 16 games. 90% of the teams fall in the 6 to 10 win range. A 7.5 win total is a difference between 7 and 8 wins.

An Arizona field goal with the Hawks reeling early in the season losing to a QB playing his first NFL game ENDS THE BET.

Green Bay holding the lead ENDS THE BET.

A 4th and 3 Hail Mary incomplete 95% of the time still makes this a live bet.

Jimmy G's health STILL makes this a live bet.

ALL OF THAT went against this bet.

The FOOL who bet over 8 did it FOR WHAT. WHAT IS THEIR REASONING. HOW ARE THEY PATTING THEMSELVES on the back for their fortune cookie cracked open at a betting window.

No more of this "I don't know man!"

I know. You're a FOOL if you bet over 8 because you had no justification to do so other than 'play with your gut' like Train.

And from gut, ....to gutter thereafter. It's as simple as that.

    Who's here? Who's capping? Who's still posting? A DECADE + 2.

Scalabrine. Say it loud and proud. Paying mortgages. Helping with college debt. Putting food on the table.

    For free.

Wake up man. Put some smelling salts under your nose. A good bet, even if it fails to cash is still a hell of a good bet. Play deuce 7 offsuit every hand and see where it gets ya...

Wilson is absolutely incredible that's a given, but to think this defense was going to be good missing everyone is insane. To the guy that said they were easily going to be 8-8 give me a break.

Credit Carroll for Carroll for being a very good defensive coach and putting together great young prospects, but the only thing expected of this team was Wilson and with how bad the defense and run game was shaping up the Under 7.5 bet made sense. Penny was an awful draft pick.

This is why I dont touch these bets though, too much risk, not enough information.

    All well said.

The problem with long-term bets are that injuries and unknowns have a far greater chance of coming into play as opposed to one game.

The benefit is that you are taking a team in the aggregate, verses what could be a one game aberration.

As a whole, this pick was correct but injuries (blowing up the 49er games) and ALL the coin flip games lost, all at crucial times where Seattle stares at elimination far sooner, becomes demoralized as a team, and throws in the towel.

This macroperspective was, of course, in the original cap and all those games lost. Hence the loss here. But as this poster said, even the Penny draft pick was ludicrous given this team's problems on defense. Now that the three coin flips went their way, they are rejuvenated and Carroll is squeezing blood from stone.

Big Dude, it's. a clip from the Incredible Hulk showing a scene where he says:

Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry.

Scal….calling the winners morons after you lost a bet is the worst of the "sour grapes" awards to my eyes. Seattle might just end up with 11 wins this season.....will you be still be calling the over 7.5's morons then?

Just end this thread and save what little dignity you have left.
