    I don't have a problem with bettors blowing off steam after a loss...an_getawayif they can't do it here, where can they do it? It is a healthy emotional response. Stifling and holding feelings inside cause the real mental damage.an_nailbiter If others can't handle it...tough titty.

    Even though I don't buy the 'scripted' fix, others have a right to express their views. Sometimes I think this place is overrun with bookmakers. Any view put out there that this so called sport isn't legit is always shouted down.

    Besides, the NFL isn't pure as the driven snow either...quite the opposite and it goes way beyond human error by the refs. The refs are complicit and can affect any outcome they choose (or is chosen for them). an_eek2

    You are months behind in your critical thinking and self awareness classes.

    Who wins is entirely irrelevant. It's about the absurdity and unlikely endings.

    Any given sunday is a dumb ass propaganda cliche. Not a explanation. Not a reason, not a truth not a fact.

    Just a dumb slogan for dumb fans.

    An excuse to accept entirely bogus outcomes.

    The backup used to be a starter. It’s not that surprising.

    There's been slot of no-name players make it big in NFL, not like it doesn't happen.

    If you can make a team you need to be a very good player.

    Difficult to know who will thrive in a live game situation, that is a different argument.

    Brady was a low pick backup, Curt Warner was arena league backup to Trent Green.

    Both Brady and Warner only started because of injuries.

    Jake Delhomme was arena league QB who took Panthers to SB early in his career.

    Many examples of guys coming out of nowhere to be pro bowl players, even hall of famers.

    Granted to see that 3 times in one week is a bit unusual but in today's NFL it's so easy to pass the ball.

    "About 5 nfl games are rigged every Sunday to keep vegas in business."

    EXACTLY!!!

    (Except for the fact that books work on approx 3-4% PM, an tiny % of a properties GP.

    And the fact that if a casino got caught fixing an event, NGC would take away their license and they'd lose ALL of their profit, a risk factor that no one is stupid enough to take.)

    But other than that, "Yeah! What you said! The fix is in to save Vegas!"

    I always wave back at the little Amazon guy. I feel like it's the courteous thing to do.

    I have noticed many times the last few years there is a theme to each sunday.  Something that happens rarely becomes common for that one week.  This week was backup qbs winning.  I remember when it was missed extra points, another week were it was a bunch of field goals bouncing off the crossbar.

    Here we go with the scripts mumbo jumbo bananarama thing again. I think the truth is that we as gamblers put way too much value in the QB and when we see a underdog with 2nd or 3d string, we automatically put a lot more agreement to the favorite. Last time I checked football is played on both sides of the ball and defense plays a critical role by (1) flipping the field or (2) create turnovers for the offense which indirectly create points. Dallas played solid defense, New Orleans picked off Brady 2x, and cincy defense couldn’t make stops. Surely one could argue that at the end of the day, a lot  of these variable make the quarterback look better than he really is because they all came out with a “W” and was not even suppose too.

    most one-hitters are merely that and nothing more once you have film on them.

    The nfl claimed in court that they are entertainment not a sport. There’s nothing to fix in entertainment it’s all about making the most money for the nfl corporation. There are not 32 competing teams there are 32 franchises all with the same goal. Put the best selling product out to make all of them the most money period. They aren’t hiding it and it’s not a conspiracy it’s business and that’s all. Look at it as their marketing director and look into their markets and what sells.   Tonight’s game with the Colts and NY are two of the largest markets and so chances of a blow out are slim to none. Promoting this new QB who set an NFL record his first game is more likely then colts D shutting him down. Look at KC and the Giants with their new QB almost winning in prime time. No they aren’t scripted but manipulated for marketing that’s just smart business

    I would like to add that MLB plays seemed absurd.  Comebacks that would happen 2 to 3 times per month seemed to happen 3 to 4 times per night during stretches.  Seemed uncanny to me and trying be be sure to be on the right team in the end.

    @Kpcinco

     Hello friend, are you saying that the fix and/or the script is not real but there is some level of manipulation? By definition, isn’t that a fix??when someone or some being is involved with the game where they can alter the results by going outside the rules. I’m just trying to make sense of something that looks like a duck quacks like a duck but we’re calling it a beaver.

    I guess where I come from with this, is I don't believe everyone is in on the fix. I'm not saying this at all. I'm a very knowledgable football fan, and I used to play the game for years. I've watched football for years. It sure makes you wonder when you watch a game, and you see a referee standing right in front of the effing play, get it wrong. I get it, I know we're all human. We all make mistakes, but then to go to replay and still not get it wrong???? Something is severely wrong here.

    Also, how many times do you hear announcers say I think this is a catch, looks like two feet in to me. Then the call from the review comes back, and they say the ruling on the field stands incomplete. The announcer does a 180 and say's yeah I can see where they came up with that. BS, you have two eyes, and you can see with your two eyes God gave you what you're seeing. That doesn't change. Are you blind? Things like this that make you wonder. Come on people, to not think this shit sometimes in what we witness as fans and gamblers then I don't know what to say then?  And no I'm not crazy either. This is just the tip IMO

    @vcuminh

    I think there is a distinction.

    Scripted implies that there is already a pre-ordained written script that defines each persons role, and the outcome of the event.  Like a movie or a play.  This is the least likely probabilistic scenario due to the sheer number of persons required to interact, execute, and keep secret.

    Fixing is less restrictive (and has a higher probability of actually occurring), in that not everyone is in on the outcome.  You only need a Ref or two in on it, and you can influence the outcome.  There are numerous cases of Fixing that went public, so again it is much more likely to occur due to the less number of persons required to be involved.

    Not sure if "Rigged" is a variation of "Fixed" or "Scripted".  I would need to consult  the Tin Foil Guide to the Universe to get you that info.

    At the end of the day, everyone tries to find the angle to cover the spread. For me, I believe that there will be corruption involved when it comes to money: gambling, stock market, etc ... I am almost certain that if we are just go by team strength and talents in sports, most of us can tell which team is better than which. It would be rare (10% or less) for an underdog team come back either cover the spread or win the game after half time. We see quite a bit of that happens with the NFL. If you play sport enough, you know what I mean.

    Good luck in whatever you believe and whatever bet you make.
