Super Bowl Parties Suck

Question

Hate the things. Usually get together with a couple of savvy pals, split a case of beer and a pot of chili, but this year I agreed to go with the wife and kids to a Super Bowl party.

Incredibly annoying to have to explain to people that, yes, the Giants get the ball after the safety.

People drifting in and out asking "what's the score?"

People who watch one game a year (with one eye open) giving their opinions on play selection.

People who only come into the room only for the Halftime show.

People without a ghost of a clue pulling for the Patriots only because they want to be on the winning side and have heard of Tom Brady before.

People who pass trays of food, blocking the screen, during crucial plays.

Have I left anyone out?

Great game. Happy to cash my tickets. Could have gone either way on the side. The total was money after watching the first two drives.

What&#x27;s really awkward is when you start cheering, screaming, going off and you spill the beans on how you want this or that to happen, and then EVERYBOdY realizes there is a DEGENERATE, sick, addicted gambler amongst the  party attendees Then everybody is whispering about you, wants to know what and who you are betting on.......... I had the lead in a playoff pool with 500.00 on the line, took the Pats and had to repeatedly explain what was at stake as the Giants took my liver apart....and questions about my props, and my 13 yr old daughter continuosly asking was I ahead all day...

- The Woman who only wants to watch the Superbowl Commercials

-The guy who used to play football at some low level; screaming out coverages at the top of his voice while you are trying to watch the game

there was a play where the pats guy came from behind to cause the fumble...

i screamed fumble before the fumble occurred, they got pissed at me...

i can see the plays before they happen its just something that occurs after watching over a billion games in my life...

the one that play "the squares game" and everyone puts money on the games...

blackjack before, halftime and after the game... (new dealer every 5 hands)

women who keep their pies shut...

etc... and everyone must drink and bring their own food to share...

after last year i gave them up..this year 7 of us who know football..all with big $ on the game eating like kings...no fighting for food/beer...total chill...no worries about seats...last year had a kinked neck watching from a kitchen table with 30 people from a tv 25 feet away no idea what was going on...year before in a garage party with no hd playing poker...just shitty...this year was as good as it gets without being at home sitting on the couch

wow skip your story makes me happy i stayed home tonight.  With 2 boys one of which turned 5 recently thouroughly into the game watching it from beginning to end i promised him i&#x27;d watch the 1st half with him thus all 3 sb parties i could have gone to were a no go and for all the crap you you have to deal w/ at them it&#x27;s a great choice to stay home.  My first SB home in many years and one of the best not only because my Giants won and I won a fucking boatlaod of dough but because i remember every play and don&#x27;t have to watch it again tomorrow althought I will cuz i&#x27;m sick like that!   GIANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
