Every player might not play this year. Revis will or won't. The games will go on. We'll deal w/either scenario.

Yeah I will admit deserves a raise. With that being said the Jets have a RIGHT to not give a raise without any ramifications taken by Reevis.

revis will play this season and he'll do fine.  every season one or two guys hold out and swear they won't play a down if they don't get every penny.  they have to say that as part of the negotiation process.  every season, a deal gets done and the player plays.  espn has to come up with something in the offseason/preseason so they make a huge deal out of these stories every year.  again, please turn off espn.  you aren't learning anything from watching that channel.

Surprised nobody responded to this comment. Who is number one CB in the league? Most experts say it is Revis and if not, I know for dam sure he is not  far behind the number one CB.

Your right hes not the best corner in the league....

 He is BY FAR the best corner in the league without question.. Dude shuts down every teams #1 receiver with out breaking a sweat

he's definitely not the best cornerback in the league.  he's very good but there is one corner that is clearly better than revis. 

come on, this isn't that hard.  i guess it depends on how you determine the best cornerback. if you determine it by 10 second espn highlights and sportscasters who get excited about interceptions, then you might think revis is the best.  but if you let the people who understand the game tell you who the best cornerback is, revis clearly isn't the best.  the best is in a class by himself. 

if you know football, you can figure out who i'm talking about and why this guy is understood by the people who know to be the best by far.

personally revis is a fucking idiot i say once tha jets have a nice winning season and get that dick sanchez out witch he will still throw mad interceptions this year and chocked every game i say then revis get that money i mean u cant have 1 good season for ur self out of how many seasons and complain like a real bitch i mean yeah hes good but how good u think hell be this year i mean he feels light headed doing a light work out now whats going to happen  during tha season hes a disgrace to football for real if i was playing a sport and getting millions i wouldent give a fuck i would wait till my first contract ended hes a self motivated prick doesnt care shit about tha team i bet u he does a lot worse this year for real fuck him

it's not that i know better than bailey, it's that no one can tell you who the best cornerback in the league is better than defensive coordinators and quarterbacks.  if they are devising gameplamns to avoid you completely, like they did last season with one cornerback more than any other by far, maybe more than any other i've ever seen, then you know that person is the best and scariest corner for qb's and defensive cordinators.  if you are knocking down balls and making nice int's, that means qb's and defensive coordinators are not afraid of you because you aren't quite at that other guy's level yet despite what a nice highlight you might make on sportscenter.

no one knows about corners better than qb's and defensive coordinators.  maybe revis will get to the level where they avoid him at all costs, but he wasn't there yet last season like the best corner in the leagu by far was.  

that's the nfl.  sometimes the guy who makes the sack isn't the best guy on the d-line, but rather the guy who gets double or triple teamed and creates the opportunity for the guy who beats just one man to get a sack.

I think when owners start honoring the contracts, then thats when the players should.  It's crazy how the most physical sport is the only one without guaranteed contracts.   If Revis shredded his hamstring, the Jets wouldn't honor his remaining 2 years of the deal.  Of course they want him for 1 million.  Team option pretty much means "If your the best, we'll honor it, if not, better luck else where"

You have 100% no idea what u r talking about... Every person/scout.coach says Revis is the best by far... HENCE why no-one throws in his direction....  Give it up

when you begin to understand football, you may see that the qb's and offensive coordinators who study film and devise gameplans know who the best players on defense are, not espn sportscasters and jets homers.  

the guy they are afraid to throw to is the best corner.  revis is a great player and maybe one day he'll be the best and offensive coordinators and qb's will gameplan completely around him like they do they best corner in the league.  maybe that will happen with revis this season.

In addition to all that. I think you'd have to take scheme into account. Revis played heavily on the opponent's #1 WR (not always as announcers/writers/Rex Ryan claim, as the stats here point out), while OAK plays a LCB/RCB mainly (where Nnamdi is matched against whoever's on the offense's left) -- so perhaps he was often not matched up with the desired target, and thus, not thrown at (opposed to Revis, where a team in need would still force the ball at their #1 guy).

I guess what I'm saying is....if not being thrown at was such a huge sign of respect (which was the "word" last season), it suddenly wouldn't have gone out of style -- as there wasn't much argument ANYWHERE about Revis's position as best cover guy this season (not a peep about Asomugha)

when the disparity is so huge, as it is between asomugha and revis, it can't be ignored.  offensive coordinators and qb's just won't throw to asomugha because they know.  i don't recall the exact numbers and i'm sure you can look it up but i believe asomugha had about 30 or fewer targets all last season while revis had over 100.  and revis has a big advantage over asomugha as a cornerback.  the jets have a great defensive line that blitzes often so revis doesn't have to cover his man as long and can take chances.  the raiders have a bad defensive line and don't blitz nearly as much so asomugha has to cover his guy longer.  they still won't throw to him.    

deion sanders got to the point where no one wopuld ever throw his way.  asomugha got there last season.  revis may get there but he isn't at asomugha's level yet despite what they say in new york.  

you can quote champ bailey as saying revis is the best, i can quote peyton manning as saying asomugha is the best.  but i' d prefer to leave it up to the offensive coordinators and qb's and no corner has seen that few targets since deion.
