So much love for Washington, from prognosticators to pundits to bettors, you would think that this game should be a tossup

Everyone and their mother has this game as the possible upset of the week and yet they are sitting +400. Seems like an amazing hedging opportunity for anyone that took Detroit to win the NFC early in the year at + money. A no-brainer hedge that everyone should be making. The Books must be in a generous mood this year. 

Just cause everyone like something doesn’t mean it’s the winning side! It’s amazes me people still want to fade the Lions, like they haven’t shown enough all season they can play ball and play very good football! They are +400 for a reason

Chiefs and Lions r both locks to win.  Anyone who takes ML on the other teams r burning their bread.

I like the points but not sure about an outright. It could happen. idk if I’ve seen a tougher football player that is that tiny.

Impressive win from the wildcard round has created some level of overaction to Texans, Commanders, and Rams !

I have Lions to win the NFC. I will not be doing this 'hedge'. I'll be large on Lions Spread. 3rd straight road game for the team with the worst defense left in the playoffs vs that offense off a bye, I'll happily lay it. You don't snatch games late off the Lions which is how the Commanders win a lot of the time. Best team in the North is a lot better than the best team in the South who has the league leader in fumbles at QB and who it seems that last reg season game vs NO wasn't just a letdown bc they saw how heavily favored they were, they were fading down the stretch. Even that big win over the Chargers doesn't look that impressive now.

I think the love is because of the number.

If it was a PK - everyone would love the Lions.

Betting is simply about one thing....  Getting the line / price combination in your favor.  It doesnt necessarily mean that everyone thinks the Commanders will win.  It means that a lot of people think that they would win more than 1 in 5.

Washington has no business even being in this game. They lucked up big time vs the BUCS. 2 fluky plays cost the Bucs the game. A mishandle fumble snap that happened to Baker one other time the entire season, and then the center snapping to early on another key possession. Fuck Washington.

They get fucking smashed tomorrow.

Bucs hammered  Wash in both QB PASSER Rating and ave per pass.  Very unlikely a team could win the game being out-played by this amount.

Which clearly suggest more luck then skill on Wash side.

I don’t think the 3rd straight road game plays as much of a factor as you think in the playoffs. The Aaron Rodgers Packers was also a 6th seed and had to play nonstop road games until they won their SB against the Steelers.

This is accurate.  This only matters if the Skins were to somehow win this game.  That would mean 3 straight road wins, with that last regular season game being a road win.  Then the Skins would be a great leverage bet against come the NFC title game.  I spoke to this same angle with the Chargers last week.  They were in the rare situation of winning 2 straight road games to end the year then go on the road for playoff game.  I was really hoping they would get a win on the road vs. Texans so I could've unloaded against them in the Division game.  Sadly that did not happen.  

That Rodgers Packers team, along with 3 other NFL teams in history, all won 3 straight playoff games to reach SB.  None of those 4 teams though finished the regular season with a road win 

I can just hear your rant now if Washington covers the spread.........

Interesting. The line opens at -7.5 the majority of bets and money are on the Commanders but the line has climbed to -9.5? How does that make sense?

Believe me, I’m not overthinking it, I’m just trying to figure out where all this love for the Commanders is coming from. I’m a student of human psychology and group-think and I am fascinated by how the public is perceiving this game vs the books. Is this line truly inflated by 3 to 4 points as many pundits and cappers believe, or is the public that is following their lead/advice being misled. The answer will reveal itself tomorrow night.
