SF - NYG - which way is the line moving?

That's cool. I was on the Niners this weekend so I have respect for them.

But just compare the games.  NYG crushed 15-1 GB @ Lambeau by 17 pts.  SF needed a last second TD w/ :03 left to barely beat NO despite 5 turnovers and a 17-0 lead.

Sometimes the public is right.

Niners hardly generated any offense vs the saints - except for one big TD pass to Vernon Davis, and then a couple of last minute drives at the end of the game.  At home.

this is the same Saints D that got gashed repeatedly by Detroi in the 1H.  At N.O.

Gmen D is much beter than Saints smoke-n-mirrors, gambling D.  Their front four is healthy and it made a big difference.

But hey, at least one of us will be a happy camper Sunday evening...

Not comin in to bash ya comment or anything but im just wondering how you can say SF didnt generate any offense. Alex essentially threw fro 300 yards(299yrds) and the total offense put up over 400 yards. With 36 points. They didnt do great on 3rd down. And if you mean they had some flat spots i would agree with you. But they delievered when it counted. Just hard for me to say they hardly put up any offense, with over 400 yards and 36 points on the board.

They had 23 pts in the first 57 minutes.  This with 5 turnovers off NO!   Their first 2 TDs came on a Vernon Davis 60 yd TD and then a 12 yard drive off a fumble.

Yeah, I admit they had 2 great drives in the last 3 minutes. But near the end of the game, the D is a little gassed.  Plus, Saints D is soft to begin with. 

Gmen D crushed GB's offense limiting them to 20 pts at Lambeau.  Hard to see how SF will do better.    

i know what your saying about the D being gassed at the end of the game. But I can say that some of the most intense n inspiring football is played in the 4th quarter when the game is on the line. especially in the playoffs. And that was a VERY intense game. From start to finish. I dont think anyone on the field, offense or defense, was to gassed to make a play. The adrenaline was pumpin in the game that I watched.

You're right.  SF stepped up when it mattered vs NO. No argument there.

But it's not like the SF offense dominated all game. And, NO has a pretty average to weak defense.  Look what Detroit did to the NO defense in the 1H.  At NO.  At SF, the Niners  had their same red zone problems all game.

And the Gmen D is much better.  Especially lately.  Much, much better.  Over their last 4 games they've completely stuffed their opponent.

Granted SF's D is better than GB's, too. I just like the NYG offense better than SF's. 

Plus I'm getting 3 pts. Yes, it's at Candlestick but Coughlin's teams have traditionally played just fine on the road. Their 07 playoff run was all on the road.  They just beat GB on the road.

Don't know why, but NYG seems like the Rodney Dangerfield of so-called sharp bettors - getting no respect.

Agreed. The SF defense was trying to give the game away. Its the offense that took it back. Surprsingly its the SF offense that won them the game.

But Its an NO team that not many have been able to stop this season. And despite the turnovers, Saints imo DID look like they were in rythm. And GB did not. Wether you want to attribute that to the bye week and them being cold, the Gmen defense, GB underestimating them(wich i cant imagine) or all of the above. But i think that NO was the tougher opponent this past weekend. There were times where the saints actually looked like the saints. SF just beat them. Plain n simple. But I didnt see very many spots that GB actually looked like the GB that we all know and hate.

 NO came in hot and off a big win. GB came off the bye n were cold and never got a chance to catch rythm. Credit to the Gmen defense that didnt allow it and kept them off balance. 3 fumbles definitely helped.

Careful it seams everyone is taking this approach.  Maybe the Giants are the right play.

How can you even say this? I agree that Packers did not look like themselves and dropped passes etc but give the Giants some credit here, for once they played a defense and not some vanilla team- pressure on Rodgers, the hype of the Giants d for weeks got to Rodgers plus the time off.
