i watched almost(some teams are just horrible) every game this year either live replay or in half hour version and coach. I described it above, Porter read the route combination and they ran it earlier and Wayne at least two times, anything less than punching porter in the mouth wasn't going to stop him. That is how football is played quite simply, players try to read what the offense is trying to do, Porter did it perfectly had help over top and gambled, Wayne could have done a backward flip and it wouldn't have mattered, he read the the cross underneath and that lead to him knowing exactly what the colts were going to do. HERE IS THE PROBLEM, DEFENSES READ PLAYS ALL THE TIME, IT IS UP TO THE QB TO READ THAT THE PLAY IS COVERED, COLLIE WAS WIDE OPEN RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM,
THIS IS FOOBALL 101 FOR A QB, READ THE COVERAGE, IT WAS A 6 MAN BLITZ, IT WAS MAN COVERAGE WITH A SAFETY OVER TOP,READ THE POSITION OF THE COVERAGE CB, THROW AWAY FROM THE COVERAGE IF IT IS TIGHT AND FINALLY FIND A OPEN RECIEVER OR GET RID OF IT AND YOU HAVE ANOTHER DOWN.
Do you guys know nothing about football?
Like porter said Manning made a mistake, it is very simple. Porter was reading manning who was locked on the replay is right on video link, locking on in the NFL means picks, that simple. The media and Sims said it was a slant which was BS and led you sheep to blame Wayne, it was a stick route with a push outside , the problem is you can't force a corner outside when he is sitting on the inside corner and knows the play.

well, sort of ironic that you would say, "do you guys know nothing about football?", in light of the rest of your argument...
1) Collie was "wide-open" over the middle... sadly, the all-out blitz also came up the middle, and therefore Collie was not really visible...
2) the play they ran is a timing route, the favorite play run by the Colts... the way it works is, the QB has to make a pre-snap read, and based on that read, he makes a decision (pre-snap) of where he is going to throw the ball... are you understanding this? you can't say a guy fucked up on his post-snap read on a play where there IS NOT POST-SNAP READ!
3) the Saints rolled the dice on that play... they know that is the Colts favorite play... they knew the Colts were in a critical 3rd down situation... the Saints "guessed" (correctly) that the Colts would be running this stick route play... they also know that they cannot tip their hand early, because it is all about the pre-snap read... so Porter sat back prior to the snap, but he timed his burst toward the line of scrimmage perfectly... since Peyton is already committed at that point (based on the pre-snap read), it was all about Porter timing it perfectly... and he did!
without at least understanding these 3 basic principles involved in that play, you aren't going to say anything sensible... as indicated by your posts...

I sometimes hope that you know even a tiny bit about football, THERE IS ALWAYS A PRESNAP READ, are you NUTS? The fact you don't know that is crazy, why do you think manning and every Qb in the league have audibles and we know nobody has more than Manning. THIS IS NOT PEEWEE football. If the team is in a cover two chances are the play is dead or goes to another patern. THE QB ALWAYS HAS TO READ THE COVERAGE, THAT IS WHY THEY WATCH FILM.
He read the coverage correctly MAN to MAN, he saw the blitz , the blitz was over to his right and stoned in the middle ,easily giving him the Collie throwing lane, he is 6-5 not 5-2, his only pressure was from Will Smith on his left he slides up if he needs more time but he doesn't and hits Collie wide open for the first down BECAUSE WAYNE IS COVERED.
You are right he threw the ball into coverage because he felt pressure that wasn't close thanks to his O-Line. Again this is all Manning's fault and a great read by Porter. LIKe Mayock says GAME OVER.
