Record for Teams who Eliminated Defending Champ? I heard it Lastyr after Seattle Beat NO.....

The title says it all but i remembered hearing an AWESOME Record SU and ATS for the team who Defeats the Defending Superbowl Champ.

BAD NEWS for Giants Backers but it was like 85-90% that the Team who knocks off the Defending SB Champ LOSES both SU and ATS!!

Can anyone fish this one out for me? I cant seem to find it but its an EYE OPENER!!

Couple this one with the 3-19 ATS Record for Teams Scoring 40+ Points the Prior Week in the Playoffs being PERFECT Fade the Pats Territory, i think im going with 2 LIVE HOME-DAWGS, with Baltimore and SF BIG!!

FOUND IT!!!

 

The Record for How Teams Fare Their Following Week After they Defeat the Defending Superbowl Champs in the Playoffs is 0-13 SU and 1-12 ATS

 

Anyone who knows me knows i AM NOT a big trends guy but this one benefitted me lastyear when FADING Seattle (+10) @ Chicago.... I'll be sure to throw this Trend into play BIG TIME this week... Waiting for the Public to Hammer the NYG n get SF down as LOW as Possible!!!

 

Best of Luck... and Please Spare me the Giants Fans, i live in NY - I'm already SICK of Hearing it!!! (and NO, I'm NOT a Giants/Jets Fan or any team left for that matter so this is COMPLETELY UN-BIAS)

Bets2win thanks for the info.  Sounds good to me.  I took the Bears last year as well and fear the Giants will lose this one. Def wait for the public money to pile on nyg.   If you are correct looks like another Harbough showdown, this time on the big stage

49ers................................one of the Harbaughs will get to the superbowl, if not both     it can be done...........everywhere I look, people are saying Pats/Giants superbowl, not gonna happen!

Giants beat San Fran in San Fran and then beat the Bills in the Super Bowl in 1991, so not sure where you are getting that 0-13 SU number from.

Just another useless trend 

Just like the giants are 4-0 in NFC championship games-irrelivant  also

Anyone who places a wager or any weight in either one of the above is a major league loser.

The system above isnt written out the correct way, it should state that when the team beats the superbowl champs, they are 0-14 SU & not playing in the superbowl the following game..............

Teams ( Giants) who knocked out the reigning champions in the wild card or div. round have went 0-9 su in the following round since 1990. All conference championship games since 1983 the su winner has gone 39-1 ats when the games
pointspread was less than 10pts.

i apologize for mis-representing this trend but i remembered it heavily fading the team who knocked off the defending superbowl champ in their next weeks game... if it is non-superbowl, then ok... im not 100% sure of the context, thanks for helping out guys!

IceMan, so youre saying the Giants are against an 0-9 SU Trend bc they knocked of the Reigning Champ in the Divisional Round (or WC Rd), but had they done it in this Round, theyd be riding a 39-1 SU Trend (if less than 10 point dog)....

-In other words, my trend should read 0-9 SU????

so if its 0-9 SU... any way to find out what that is ATS?? this spread may get down to 1-2 Pts (practically making it SU) but its always nice to document... Thanks again!

The '90 Giants defeated the 49ers in SF, who were the defending champs, on their way to win the Super Bowl that year. So here's a trend for you: 

The Giants are 1-0 SU and ATS the week after knocking out the defending champs since 1990.

Let the trends go they will continue to hurt you in the long run as rules, free agency, coaching changes, scheme changes all happen on a frenzied blitz of what is today's NFL that demands much more work than merely compiling what teams do against each other  eras when you cross gap all these variables it does not equate.  Trends are nothing more than a time capsule of events when things remain similar across the board bound to screw your capping of a game in today's NFL...let it fucking go already!!  Just my opinion on trends....don't need em...don't care for em....sorry......just my 2 cents lets talk xxxs and ooooos and where the games are won and lost.....pheeeeewww..ok go on and talk trends just had to get that off my chest

Splooge, everyone has a way of capping & if just look at x's & o's, you get get hurt............there is a ton of things to look at besides trends............the strongest trends & systems ive had in the playoffs were on the Broncos over the Steelers, Pats over the Broncos & 49ers over the Saints.......does that look like a bowl of losers?

Some people swear by trends & systems.........I like to use them together with everything else I have to cap a game..........there will be a lot of shocked bettors this week when the Ravens knock off the Patriots but I will gladly take the points.....................

I like trends that can be explained or give reasons  why the trend keeps continueing just like the Fav off a bye trend during the season.

This trend I can see reasons why it continues.The team is on an emotional high after beating the superbowl champs and can no where but down.This is human and natural reaction!!If there was ever a spot for the Giants to hit a flat point its this game right here but we will see

How do you know for a fact that this team is on an emotional high? Looking at the giants players after the game it looked like business as usual for them. It shouldnt of been a big suprise to them given the fact that they almost beat the packers back in December. If any team is on an emotional high it would have to be the niners. When was the last time this team was in the NFC title game? Hell, Vernon Davis was freaking crying after making that game winning catch. I dont have a side to this game yet but theres no way in hell I would use that reasoning to base my pick for the niners.
