Good luck tonight. Going -1 on Carolina is probably the right way to go.
I'm not one to follow numbers like your system eludes to but it appears to work most of the time. I had trouble with this game. I'm probably going +2.5 NYG.
A somewhat similar situation happened week 1 where San Diego started as a -1 Favorite over Oakland with Oakland becoming a -1 favorite as the game approached. Plus there was minimal public on the side of SD. This resulted in a dog win by 8
Tonight's game is similar with NYG becoming a dog....and a low public split. Watching the numbers indicates that the side might be NYG.
Tough game. Injuries, short week plus I only have one example from this year that this occurred to go by.
Good luck everyone.
I like the way you are comparing games to the past, especially to games that have already taken place this season. That said, you yourself make another valid point that detracts from the "similarity" between tn's game and SD/OAK's game -- short week, injuries, superbowl champs 0-2 ATS, line moving hard and even reaching the crucial # "3" vs. just crossing the 0 from -1 to +1.
So i think you have the right approach, and I am nodding my head as if I am proud haha, but I am still leaning Carolina because the line movement was pretty strong. That said, it's always good to keep an open mind about games, and to be able to have mental agility... and i think there is a strong history of teams crossing the 0, and dogs eventually winning. So i am aware of the question marks. I can also justify tonight being a game in its own category, as a Thursday night primetime game.

Will you be posting the Saturday college picks in this thread?
Unless people strongly oppose it, I do intend to do so. If anyone tails me in NFL, i would STRONGLY advise to tail me in college football. Ironically, I know even less fundamentally about college football than the NFL. But the determined edge i keep referring to is a lot more apparent and concrete in college football, and for self-evident reasons.
