Hello Covers Community. Wishing all an early Happy Thanksgiving! I posted an opinion about what I thought about the Bills/ Texans matchup this past Monday. As we get into the holiday season, there will be many “newbies” putting a few sheckles on NFL games. Lines, believe it or not, address this. Vegas wants to get as much money as possible on the favorites and the over, and will post lines accordingly (wanting dogs and the under). Before you guys start doubting this…I’m far from correct all the time. But, I’ve been in this for decades. Sooo… let’s move on.
I’m going against my above soliloquy in game one. The Colts are the current #1 seed in the AFC. Their opponents to this point have a combined record of 30-53. The Kansas Swifty Chiefs opponents have a record, to this point, of 52-34. The line of 3 and a hook might entice some to take the visitors. The Chiefs return home after two road losses. Gotta go home team. I’m probably on the $$$ line with the home team versus the points. Go KC.
Game 2. Now I refer to my opening diatribe. The line on the Giants/ Lions game should be at least 17. It’s Detroit -13. The Lions do not lose consecutive games at home (lost to Minny in their last home game). But they can show up with a win and not cover. Detroit lost to the Eagles in their last tilt and have the Packers on Thursday. This is a sandwich game for the home team, especially since Coach Campbell respects the Mara family of the Giants. Give me the points.
As I catch my breath, I wish everyone a very blessed and happy Thanksgiving.
Good luck all!
