    if we're talking current

Brady is still #1 with his 3 rings

that would make Big Ben #2 with his two rings

I don't see how anyone could bash ben after that game, he made play after play when they needed it the most. Don't think hes the best quarterback in football but he played like it yesterday.

I don't see how anyone could bash ben after that game, he made play after play when they needed it the most. Don't think hes the best quarterback in football but he played like it yesterday.

To me the issue is that average QB's can win games on GREAT teams..we have seen it over the years and I think Ben and Eli fall into that category..they arent BAD players, but they are not "passing" QBs and could not engineer a passing scheme drive after drive if they had to, unlike Brady, Manning, Warner and Brees.

So based on the "QB" position, I cannot rank Ben or Eli in the top 10 actually.

They won the big game and that is great, but Trent also won and so did Phil Simms and other sub-par QBs, that does not make them top in the game in their category.

Both Mannings, Brady, Brees, McNabb, Rivers, Cutler and Carson Palmer. Ben is good but the defense usually carries the day on your team. He played well last night but the defense was so geared up to stop the run he had many wide open opportunites. The Steelers run the ball and play defense. Ben is very overrated if you on't think there are at least five, if not more, better quarterbacks in the NFL....

Peyton, Brady, Brees, Palmer, Hasselbeck, Warner.........so many are just better qb's. Doesn't mean Roethlisberger stinks.........just that he isn't among the elite.

Aaron Rodgers isnt there yet, but he will turn out to be a better QB than Ben.

    Tom Brady
    Peyton Manning
    Drew Brees

BTW, a foolish claim, BB has 1 td pass in 2 SB's and you think he's some kind of God. Get Real. He's the most elusive, yes, but that's his game.

So just discount the 32 TDS & 11 INTs he had last year behind a good O;Line.. While your at it also discount the 3 game run he had in the 2005 SB run.. Most want to just remember the SB.. But in the run to get there in 3 games he took this team on his shoulders.. had almost 1000 yds passing and outplayed Manning,,, Palmer ( he got hurt but that counts but he is a dog anyway) .. and Jake the dog Plummer when he was hot shit.. .. Only Bens 5th year the best is yet to come.. And comparing him to Dilfer like he was earlier in this thread is idiotic.. Dilfer 113 TDS & 129 INTS.. Ben 101 TDS & 69 INTS.. And Dilfer NEVER had a drive in a big game like this years SB.. Ben is young.. But last year behind a good line he was like magic..

    His regular season numbers-

    60% completion ratio
    3300 yds passing
    17 TDs
    15 INTs
    46 sacks
    80.1 passer rating.

They won the game, that should be all you say, he is a bottom 10 QB stats wise and based on the QB position he is average at best.

Were you meaning 2007? He had a GOOD year in 2007 but the guy has never been on a team that didnt have a decent running game and a great defense.

He plays his position on THIS team very well, that is about all I can say given the talent the team has on both sides of the ball.

Lets have Ben go to San Fran or Cleveland, a team who hasnt won in a long time (not even saying Detroit) and see how those numbers hold up.
