Not many running qbs make it to the SB especially a first year starter and second year player.   In memory I can think of only Roger the dodger and Fran the scram who never won.  Most winning qbs are the traditional types.  Should SF win and Balt. Win never has two head coaching brothers met in SB.

all i see are SF will roll falcons threads...somethimg like denver will roll  balty, or seattle will roll falcons. seems like falcons are just a fade train. havent capped yet but will take this as colins first road playoff game into consideration

well  as a niner fan--- 

i completely agree collin will not have a huge performance as the one he had vs the packers, but ,  Atlanta has been destroyed by mobile QBs, Newton gashed them, and after settle down wilson Destroyed them, and they were lucky RGIII leave the game injured back in week 5, it will be more easier for SF to contain the atlanta aerial assault  , than to Atlanta contain SF multiple threat offense, besides the falcons have proven once again how easily they melt down and implode, and just cant finish off games,... the emotional momentum is in the 49ers side, while the falcons are feeling really lucky as they almost chocked, SF will be more confident.... it wont be easy and neither team will roll---- but atlanta is a soft weak a.ss team i havnt seen all season something on the falcons and yest that make me beleive otherwise

A couple of things to take into consideration:

- John Abraham won't be 100%

- Atlanta is a poor tackling team. The corners like to throw themselves at receivers instead of wrapping them up. Good luck trying to knock down Vernon Davis and Crabtree.

Seattle failed so many times in the 1st half, and left 6-14 points off the board with redzone hiccups in the 1st half....maybe the back and forth travel did kick in for a bit....SF wont be dealing with that

Harbaugh wont allow that to happen

All I know is Atl CRASHED the middle on every QB read today, and Wilson failed to take it outside....

If Atl does the same thing next week, Kaep will break the rushing record yet again...

 

I bet against SF this week and I learned my lesson big time....

Atl couldnt stop Sea, Sea kept stopping themselves....once they stopped making mistakes....they took a 28-27 lead...

SF wins by 14+

SF D will matchup great against this Atl team



Why do you think they ran to the middle?  Maybe ATL actually can set the edge and were actually disciplined enough to not take terrible angles like the packers did all game.   dom capers should be fired for letting a high school offense make them look that bad.  It will not happen vs. Falcons. 

Atl got beat as they were able to keep Wilson in the pocket;  however, they couldn't get to him at all and as a result the WRs had what seemed like minutes to get open on every drop back.

yall can sit here and think 49ers gon win.. if 49ers win, it wouldnt be by alot.

1. SF lost against seattle by blowout and falcons beat seattle
2. SF not used to play in domes
3. ATL is very motivated
4. ATL won all games against SF years back 
5. ATL is home

if atlanta play good defense and blow them first half , i think atlanta will win.

and its playoffs, teams play diff and harder. i got faith for my falcons

Look Guys I'm a big time Redskins fan. Like I said earlier I don't post picks. Let me ask you Falcon bettors a question. Do you think Vegas and the books throw money away? Open your eyes!! If Atlanta was the better team they wouldn't be getting points, period!!! All you Falcon bettors are talking yourself into Atlanta. Vegas wants even money on this game and they set a line just right for all the squares and A-holes to even it up by jumping on the home dog. I'm not going to write a book explaining why the niners win this game by double digits and they will, but I'll just leave you Falcon bettors with this thought. Who would you want coaching your team in this game, Harbough or Smith? And as I said in an earlier post I can't stand Harbough or the niners, but I'm not going to bet against them b/c I don't like them. A winner is a winner is a winner. For the last time 49ers win by DD's. GL to all of you whatever you do.

Remember what Brady did? Got lucky with the tuck rule and then winning in Pittsburgh. Then as a DD underdog beating the Rams. I believe he was a 2nd year QB and 1st year starter.

Experience in the QB position doesn't imply anymore. For the longest time no rookie QB has won a playoff game until that ended with Sanchez and Flacco 5 years ago. Now look at the success of young QBs.

It may be tough for Kaepernick in the noisy dome but his legs will torch the Falcons defense. I am sure the Packers scheme was to keep Kaepernick in the pocket and look what happened.

I say the over is the best play. Take it early

Seattle did a number on Kap in Seattle if you recall.  If Hawaii could beat him all those years he was at NV, why not Atlanta?

vegas and books doesnt even know who will win the game.
they predicting just like we all are. 49ers is a good team but u never know what can happens. u dont know if SF quarterback will play like everybody think he is. u dont know nothing. and u dont know if atlanta will lose or win either.

but like i said, nobody knows who will win until it comes

I've seen a lot of assinine comments on here but this one takes the take What the hell does losing to Hawaii have to do with this game? What does losing to Seattle have to do with this game? Anyone who compares how one team did against another in order to cap a game is a moron. Using your logic since the Giants kicked the crap out of New Orleans and Carolina and Atlanta kicked the crap out of the Giants, Atlanta should not lose to either N.O. or Carolina, but they did.

Vegas isn't predicting anything nor did I say they were. They come out with lines to attract even money on boyh sides.

exactly. people are saying the line rising means that vegas knows SF will blow them out, this might happen, it might not happen. but that's not the reason for a rising line. its attract even action

6 pointer is an option . If you can get Atlanta plus 10.5 , maybe put them with NE minus 3.5. Just a thought.

All I am saying is that every time I saw Kap play here he lost.  He is a second year qb and a first time starter.  I would rather game plan him than Tom Brady.  Let him try to beat you with his arm, not his legs.  Take something away, that is what I would try.  May not work but I would try.  Best to try and confuse him, but I would try to stop the run first.  You got to take your chances with Davis or Moss or Crabtree.  I am hoping Homefield makes a difference, maybe not.  Did not matter for Denver.

So they should be 2.5 point favs IMO. Not WAY overvalued.

I agree 9ers are not over valued. 

1st thing I ever do is look at strength vs weakness. 

SF strength is one of the best, if not the best O line in football. 2 pro bowlers on that unit. Atlanta can not rush passer what so ever. Look @ Seattle gm, Wilson had 5+ seconds multiple times. 
I don't care who you have as your QB that much time will allow him to do surgery on your D fence. & btw Kaepernick can sling it, he's anything but Tebow !!!!!

On the other side of ball. Matty Icebox's O line is not very good. 28th in rushing vs Aldon & Justin Smith. Again total mismatch. 

49ers win by 10+. 

Don't be fooled by angles of monkey off Atl back etc etc. You still have to play the game and basic fundamentals always shows up.
