NFL Playoffs Round II

Still kicking myself for not hedging with Sea 2nd half  Still cant believe the Wash coaches couldnt see how useless Rg3 was after he got hurt in the 1st qtr and left him in after halftime.  Oh well, still a small profit

Its been a great long season.  Back up to over 135 units on the year.  Won biggest two bets of the year with 50 units on GB@ Chic and 30 units Bama last night

Majority of the year, I play 5 units ($500 a game).   Near the end of the year after the GB win, moved up to 7 units a game, including last week.  However, this is a tough week, so I will drop back in the units.  Kind of crazy that 3 of 4 are rematches!!

AFC Games

In all honesty, I can see both of these games being blowouts.  I wouldnt be surprised if Den and NE win by 17+.  However, that is not what I am playing to happen.

Balt/Den -8.5 46

Couldnt be happier for what Manning has done this year.  After serious injury and wondering if he could play again, and now he is back and is as good as ever.  Been a fan of him forever.  Denver is the #1 seed, however, I am alittle not sold on them as the best team.  During this long win streak, they have beat majority of very bad teams.  Yes, they beat Balt, but I think a rematch game is HUGE for the losing team.  Flacco has a tendacy of laying eggs on the road.  But, hopefully playing this team a few weeks ago will help that.  I think that if Balt runs th ball with Rice and Pierce, adds screen passes and deep balls with Smith and Boldin that they keep this game close.  The Balt defense is getting old, but they still can play fast and make some plays.  With Manning, you know what you will get, I am just hoping they come out alittle slow off the bye week.  I am going to take the dog, and hope Balt can keep it within a TD

Houston/NE -9 48

Here we go again, with another rematch of a blowout game.  NE raced out to a 21-0 quickly.  In my opinion, after that Houston outplayed them.  NE had many breaks that went their way to help that lead.  I think Houston gave up on the run too quickly, Watt didnt do anything, and the ball bounced the way of the Pats.  I think this team will have more confidence, pound the ball more and open the play pass more.  I think the defense will have a different planand make more plays.  Or, I can be 100% wrong and NE wins by 24+ .  I just think this is too many points for two teams playing again

NFC Games

Sea/Atl -2.5 47.5

Here we go again. Another great regular season for Atlanta and another #1 seed. We have seen this story before. Until they prove they can win a playoff game, I refuse to take them. I think this is the least dangerous team left in the NFC. They have so many weapons on offense, as they always do, but I just dont trust Ryan or their defense. I am still angry over Seattle "stealing a win". That being said, this team in dangerous. Wilson has shocked I think everybody this year, and with Lynch back there, they are so balanced on offense. As for their D, they are tough. Playing on the turf this week, will allow them to fly around the field. Like I said, it sounds like a poor reason, but I refuse to bet Atlanta until they win a meaningful playoff game

AND HERE WE GO Saving the best for last of course . In all honesty, I think the winner of this game wins the Superbowl . I think its obvious who I believe will win this game. That being said, I think SF is a fantastic team and wouldnt be upset if GB were to lose to them on the road. Another rematch here, in which SF won in GB. However, I like this game for a few reasons that have changed since then. First, GB is getting more healthy while SF has a few key injuries. Since Clay and Shields have come back, this D has been much better. Getting Woodson back last wek gave Capers so many more options. Playing Webb didnt allow GB to show they are playing better on D. The idea is GB is terrible on D, however, they were top 7 in points allowed. Yes, AP ran for 200 twice, but thats AP. GB allowed only 3 100 yd rushers all year. The third of course, was Gore. I am happy that Kapernick is playing. He is a threat, but young QBs struggle in their 1st playoff games usually. Coming off the bye, I hope they come out alittle rusty and GB can jump on them quickly. Yes, GB has a poor O line and Rodgers gets hit and hit alot. However, I think NE and Sea proved very easily that you can spread this defense out and throw all over them. In that case, the fact that GB has ALL their weapons I see Gb scoring much easier than expected. Cobb wasnt used like he is now in the first meeting. SF has talent everywhere and I believe they will play man-to-man. I think Rodgers will get the ball out quick and the WRS will makes plays with YAC. I was worried about playing SF all year long in the playoffs until watching spread offenses shred them. I think if these teams played 10 times, each team would win 5. I think, and hope this is the game of the week. And like I said, I believe the winner of this game wins the Superbowl . SF is a great team and best of luck to them and their fans this week

Cant wait for the weekend Should be 4 very good games. I can see the AFC games being blowouts, but I am hoping they are not. I like both road NFC teams to win the game.

Over the years, more and more teams with the 1st round bye come out and lose the opening games. At the end of the year, I think GB and Sea are playing the best football in the NFC and I look for that to continue this week

Lar---It going to be a battle.  Not being a homer, I truly like their chances.  Everybody keeps saying SF will win cause they have a great run D, well GB doesnt run anyways.  SF is not GREAT against the pass, especially at the end of the year.  GB finally healthy at the right time.  If SF wins, which they could easily do, it will NOT be because they shut-down GB, it will because they scored more.  And, I will take my chances with AR against Kaepernick in his 1st playoff game

Sometimes you have to take a chance and go with a gut feeling.  Thats why I lowered my plays this weekend.

I know it sounds stupid, but all 4 fav covered last week.  Maybe this week is the bark of the dog

NE and Den both beat these teams by this spread this season, and while it very easily can happen again, I think both dogs keep it within a TD

I see both games either being 17+ wins, or last poss wins....I am taking the points this time

Kidding.....I dont blame anybody for playing SF this week.  Like I said,  think this game is a complete toss and would be 50% anytime they played.

Looks like the lines will stay near what they are at kickoffs....

Balt is up to 9.5 ......While Den win streak is impressive, the teams they beat were not.  Manning 0-3 in playoff games with temps at what they will be tomorrow.....not sure they win by double digits

Houston 9.5 as well.....just a weird feeling they score neough to keep it close in the 4th

Sea and GB both sitting at 2.5....something would really worry me if my home team off a bye was giving only a fg or less......
