Appreciate the mention bro but Cali's writeup is better than mine.  He does make good points about Belichick's cloak and dagger tactics on injuries.  I'm banking my play mostly on Belichick and the fact that Miami hasn't really beat anyone soundly except for these Patriots.  Any other coach I would look at Miami.  In Belichick we trust!

Agree with most of your post, scsiege - except for the part where you used the word lock  - and where you said you don't see Vegas being able to fix this game.

Just my humble opinion, but I'd love to know how you think Vegas can fix any game.....? 

 

 

 

any thoughts on colts at chargers? colts have lost last 3 meetings and are seeking revenge....chargers however are 4-6 and really need this win for any playoff hope. Hans, Puck, Dixie, I truly wish you the best on your plays.  I understand the faith in Belichek... The bottom line here is Belichek will not be able to suit up for this one, and clog the defensive line for the Pats.  The Hoodie has always been able to plug in players to fill for injured stars... He runs a flexible system, and keeps players ready.. Of course, he never had this many key players banged up or out... The worst depth on that team is on the 3 man D line.  They don't have massive runs stoppers that can fill in for Warren or Wilfork, or both.  Take a look at the Jets game.... If one or both of the those run stoppers won't play, then Hoodie will have to compensate by bringing extra people.. Another Safety or plugin another LB to help with gap control.  In a 3-4 D, your run stopping abilty relies on huge NT and DT to clog space, and take on blockers... (See Minnesota, Pitt, Jets, etc...)  (BTW, both of the All Pro DT's for the Vikes, The Williams'... No relation...  are out!!! Jacksonville at home should easily handle them this week. More on the to follow)Unlike their 1st meeting in Foxboro, the Phins now have a very respectable passing game... You get 8-9 men up in the boxx the stop the run, and that will leave a lot of man coverage for Ginn, Camarillo, and Fasano... Pick your poison here... Dan Henning excels at exploiting depleted defenses.

Most likely, the Patriots will have to lose before people will look at them for what they currently are: The most injury depleted team in the NFL. "They are who we thought they were!!!!" as Dennis Green might say....

Also, when looking at the Phins, and seeing close wins, not blow out wins... Remember, the Patriots have the EASIEST schedule in the entire NFL this year ( https://www.theredzone.org/strength.asp )... and with that schedule, their only convincing win has been a truly disapointing Denver team.  They have lost to Miami, SD, Indy, and the Jets.  All good offenses, that have great team speed on offense.  That same Chargers team that dismantled the Patriots  earlier this year, was completely shut down by this Miami team.

Also, please keep in mind that the Wildcat is just one of the many formations the Phins use.  And with every team trying to stop it, only the Ravens speedy D was able to do it.  You may have noticed several other teams trying to run the same formation all over the league with generally poor results.  Miami runs it the best, because the system is Coached by QB's coach David Lee... Lee brought the system from Arkansas, were they really perfected it... When you get the type of runners such as Williams and Brown in space, you better have some very fast, physical personel to defend it.. Otherwise you will get torched.

Further, the Wildcat wasn't some new crazy offensive that shocked the Pats!  The Patriots have been running this formation, and it's many rinkles for years with Kevin Faulk.  That have seen the formation a million times... Bottom line is, they don't matchup well with Miami's offense at full strength... And that sure don't with a slowed, hobbled, aging Defense..

The Patriots will be exposed again on Sunday.

Lots of great points Cali.  Its always great to see the other side as well, youre right Big Bill better have his A game ready.

 One thing is Im not putting too much stock in the Chargers as a common opponent.  The Fish caught the Chargers in a bad body clock scenario, while The Pats had to face Diego at in primetime on the road on the back end of a west coast double header.  Not the same Cassel as that time either. 

As far as Minny goes, I haven't seen confirmation but if the Williams brothers arent playing Minnesota loses by two touchdowns, minimum.  They are already reeling from losing EJ Henderson at Middle linebacker, if they take away both defensive tackles (they run a 4-3) and with a complete stiff at MLB right now they are toast vs Jax.
