It feels like people are nit picking the very few times that his decisions haven't worked out. If your statement was indeed true, they wouldn't be where they are today.
There's no chance that a team is as good as it is if Campbell "lacked self control" and made "poor decisions" consistently.

Yes I'm nit picking but even HOFer Troy Aikman questions some of his foolish careless decision making, but Troy astutely pointed out many positive similarities to the great HC Jimmy Johnson. Empowering his players to perform above and beyond being Accountable to their fellow teammates. Jimmy got the best effort out of all his players. And the players reciprocated. They loved Jimmy. HC Campbell players love him similarly. But ask anyone on this forum if they wouldn't Totally agree that he's his own worst enemy. Kryptonite I call it.

Yep, few people give props to coaches when they go for it on 4th and 1 from their own 40 and succeed, but you can bet the occasional times those 4th down attempts aren't successful, the critics will be out in droves. I wonder but the success rate on 4th down is under Campbell, although the better number would be the success rate between the 40 yard lines I suppose, where it is riskier
