It's all about the flag. Shwartz broke the rule of throwin a flag when it was already going to be reviewed. Okay the ref made a mistake, but be a real coach and just wait. Why was he so quick to pull the trigger on the red flag....calm it down shwartzy. lololol. And plus everyone knows Detroit never wins on Thanksgiving.

It came up last year with Schwartz calling out Harbaugh for doing the same thing!!!

im sure the spotters upstairs had to be screaming in schwartz's ear 'challenge challenge challenge'...

but for schwartz to act that hastily and cost his team 7 pts is just a bad decision, and in a way symptomatic of the problem that has plagued detroit all season: lack of discipline

Schwartz is a moron. When you act like a jackass when an opposing coach makes a mistake and then a year later you make the same mistake on an opposing td that would have been overturned, that is fucking hilarious!!!

You guys are all so quick to call him an idiot but the reality is that most players/coaches and even fans don't know ALL the rules of the NFL, especially the obscure ones. 

I'm willing to bet that more than half you fans on Covers probably didn't know about this rule before today and giving the high charge emotional aspect of the game, why are you surprised he reacted the way he did?

And one final point of NFL rules - ever wonder why the refs have to explain the entire OT rules to the players and announce it to the audience each time?  Yeah, it's because even players forget the playoff rules sometimes.  Do you see the NHL, NBA or MLB explain OT rules to players and fans?

This rule WILL BE EXPLOITED.

You are a coach of a team that has just scored, but you think it will be called back because of whatever reason (incomplete pass, penalty on the pass, stepped out of bounds, whatever....)........THROW THE RED CHALLENGE FLAG!!!!  And then say you were challenging something stupid, an uncalled facemask or something.

You get a 15-yard unsportsmanlike penalty, but now the play is unchallengeable!!!!!

TOUCHDOWN!!!!

u can't be serious...

schwartz is an nfl head coach making 7 figures...part of the responsibility in his job is to know the rulebook inside-out...he's not baggin groceries for cryin out loud...

btw he said in a post-game interview he was still upset over a previous play that went against his team...

so he obviously let his emotions take over, which is exactly why HCs get p'd off when their players get flagged on callls like unsportsmanlike conduct...

maybe if schwartz got a grip on himself his players would do the same instead of being among the most undiscplined in the game

Alright let me clarify my point - you guys are right, headcoaches are paid handsomely to know rules and stuff.  Fine, I'll give you that.  But I guess this was probably more of a emotional reaction more than anything and that could happen to anyone - players or coaches.

The other part to this is that most of you probably feel like that play cost them the game but honestly, Detroit had SO MANY chances afterward to either protect the lead or win the game outright.
