This guy isn’t a proven winner and idk if he’ll ever be. I feel bad for some of this receivers that have mediocre to average qbs. Keenan Allen had a Philip rivers at the end of his career… and Philip rivers at the end of his career is a better qb than herbert.
Is herbert overrated?
Same shiit he was doing at Oregon...Locks on to his 1st read and if it not there..takes sacks...For a guy as big and athletic as he is..he sure does not run or use his legs like a Josh Allen....He also takes way too many sacks...

he's not rated very highly anymore and hasnt been for a while. so, maybe overrated from preseason rankings but he's not that good anymore.
that whole team just needs to be imploded

In my opinion, Brandon Staley needs to go. He doesn’t put his players in a position to succeed. I understand analytics, but successful coaches know the specific game situation is more important than statistics. He seems to have no feel for game flow and how his decisions impact the rest of the game. I can still remember when he went for it on 4th down inside his own 30-yard line and failed. I’ve never seen anything like it in 40+ years of watching football. At this point, Staley’s in-game decisions have become absurd. Imo, of course.

To me he's almost becoming underrated simply because he has zero support outside of Keenan Allen. The Charges o-line is one of the worst in the NFL and have been for Herbert's entire career so far. Ekeler isn't quite what he was before, but it's moot because the line can't establish a running game. They drafted Quinten Johnson to compliment Allen, but he is looking like a royal bust so far. Mike Williams and Joshua Palmer are his #2 and 3 receiver and are gone for the year.
By far their biggest issue is they have this "defensive guru" HC in Staley who has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt he just had great players on the Rams when he coached their defense. The Chargers defense has zero teeth even though they have/had decent players. They're a bottom-10 defense any way you look at it.
Herbert hasn't been great this season, but he's getting killed every week because he has zero time to throw. If you want to know how valuable Herbert is to this team than just know at one point earlier this year the Chargers were 20-5 when their defense gave up 28 points or less in Herbert's tenure

He is extremely overrated. Almost as much as Mike Trout. Trout is useless, trout is worthless. The last five seasons he has more strikeouts than hits. End of story
