Cards Defense is playing much better than that number indicates.
Just like the Colts did 2 years ago when they won.
The thing I noticed was the Cards has faced crap defenses so far
Philly D plays real smash mouth football and will be interesting to see how they handle playing against such a physical Defense
Philly already handled Vikings and Giants D so Cards improved Defense won't be anything new for them

Don't know which way you are going KOAJ but all this Cards love is sheer craziness IMO. The numbers don't lie, this defense is going to get picked apart, the Cards little run resurgence will be done as this Eagles run D isn't the soft run defenses of Atlanta and Carolina, Jim Johnson will come up with a gameplan to keep Warner in check, the Eagles have byfar the better O and D lines, and the Cardinals have awful special teams. I can't believe how many are backing the Cards, perception vs reality IMO, it's not rocket science, it's football.

Leading with his helmet means the crown of the helmet makes first contact with the opposing player...to do that you must dip your head in order to strike with the top of the helmet and have it make first contact.  There is a big difference...

This is great.  I love how just about every statistic can be negated by another statistic.

The ranks quoted above show points/game, in response to an earlier post by andarmac99 of rankings by yards/game.  Let's clear this up. 

Yards/game (2007):

4. NE
7. NYG
11. GB
14. SD

Yards/game (2008):

1. PIT
3. BAL
3. PHI
19. ARI

Points/game (2007):

4. NE
5. SD

17. NYG

Points/game (2008):

I'm not sure what this means, but I'd say that:

a) The Giants Defense was better than 17th in 2007, and
b) Arizona gave up a shitload of points this year

The numbers lean to Philly, but I can't pull the trigger.  I wouldn't be shocked to see Arizona put up too many points.

Giants played like crap most of last year and then somehow slipped into gear on both sides of the ball. That's more like what AZ has done, not Philly. Everyone pointed to the Giants' regular season stats as a reason not to back them on each game through the playoffs. Ouch!

It really doesn't matter what Arizona did in the early part of the season, nor the end of the season when they had nothing to play for. How can you put your money on stats from meaningless games?!

Yes, Philly D has played well but they have not been tested lately. McNabb will NOT win the Super Bowl. Bad karma for the phone stunt. Just like the Titans' stomping the terrible towels!

what will tell the story is - what happens to any of these teams the moment they arent on the positive end of a bunch of turnovers.

The line tells you where the LOVE is, misguided LOVE on the Birds with the weather shutting down the passing game last week. What is with the stats? only thing that matters is which team the nfl tells the officials too help win a fixed contest.

I'll give you all a winner.  The math and in-depth statistical analysis says over is the play.  I'm can say this with an 80% confidence factor.

Carolina, Miami, Buffalo, Dallas, Giants

Philly pass defense is beatable, especially in favorable conditions on the road.

I really think the Cards are playing better and given the home field AND nice conditions, they wont fall for Johnson's blitz schemes, they will be prepared. I hope the Phils secondary is ready because Boldin should play and Fitz is on fire, oh and James has been doing a great job since the Seattle game.

Philly vs the Giants Manning was 17-31 191 yards 2-1.  Looks pretty good to me.

James has been above average at best, the guy has 130 yards at a 3.9 clip in 2 games, that is against the 20th and 25th ranked run defenses.

Philly doesn't care if they are on the road, the just won 2 straight and beat the defending Superbowl Champions.

I like the over on this play as well.
 
My gut says take the home dog ARZ +3.5.  
 
The best play is the over 48 and then take those winnings for a HUGE Baltimore +6 and ML play.

At the time the games were played, each team was ranked number five or higher, trust me I follow the team very well, I expect better results than on a freezing cold night game first time they played.

Should be a good game, better hope Donny makes the plays because I dont think the run game will dominate like it did last time they played either.

when did philly become such a powerhouse, they won 2 playoff games where the teams choked the game away by horrible quarterback play. i can see it now, the eagles thinking samuels can cover fitzgerald, samuels getting exposed for being as overrated as he is, fitzgerald for the td, then they try to double team him and boldin gets his, then switch to a zone and get shredded. if arizona can protect the quarterback they won't be stopped. i love backing better qb's, and warner is a lot better quarterback than donny boy, unless of course you like balls thrown at your feet this defense while pretty stout has inflated numbers due to weak offenses, they played the plaxicoless/offensiveless giants twice, skins twice, the afc north, seattle, san fran, chicago, and st. louis. sounds like great offenses there

When they were matched up with the weakest team making the playoffs this year.

NowAZ played very well against Atl, and got on a roll against carolina with the turnovers, but if the turnovers are even or better for the eagles, they win by double digits.

It will be a good game for sure, especially if Arizona gets an edge on Johnson this time around.

This turnover stuff is a joke fellas, the Cards were playing ball control the entire second half, they werent being aggressive at all, we have no idea what points could have been scored if the game were more competitive...hell James didnt play much the entire second half of the game and Warner didnt go downfield at all, they played to suck up the clock and nothing else.

the eagles have been given the game by turnovers by horrible qb play. warner will not make the horrible decisions manning and jackson have made. fitzgerald won't be stopped.
