    @Ruttin @math

Leg 1 in the books in a lifeless, listless game by both teams.

Cowboys playing the perfect role of losing with dignity. Sixers should take note.

wat the feck is the difference if it pays you the same and it still goes into your account if it wins???

scalabrine,i know ive addresed this previously in one of your threads but im just smashing my head against a wall   tryna understand how folk can possibly think that it is any less meritorious or "valid" parlaying or teasing to win EXACTLY THE SAME unit that you wud be by betting flat...like,seriously how fuk.king thick and retarded are these people??wats their glitch??is it sumhow less "manly" or legitimate to go that route??
as you say,its about being smart or adapting..line-setters aint fu.kking around, they kinda know wat theyre doing and taking points off to circumvent that is smart, not "cheating" or taking the easy way out...obviously if the odds are the same as in a flat standard spread bet then your chances of winning are just the same,so wat gives??...apologies cos i know im asking the wrong guy but if theres anyone out there who can go even some way to tryna help me understand please do so.

hypothetical....if scalabrine was able to post a parlay every single day of the year at around -110 or better and hit at over 75% would all of y'all reading this refuse to play them cos......well......"cos it just aint right!!!"....if so,sit down and look at yourself and think about the incomprehensible stupidity of that.

    Melos,
It's because they literally think that MLing public favorites is 'easier' than a straight up bet even though the payouts are the same.

The problem with that thinking, as you know, is that many squares ML favorites and lose their shirt.

If you had the Pats, Ravens or undefeated Panthers in a ML parlay, you lost badly.

Picking the RIGHT favorites is the trick and not taking too many of them is the key to it being profitable.

Because they don't do it, and because squares do it, they think someone who posts such a thing, even a winner somehow has been paid in a less credible manner (i.e., the wins aren't as 'legitimate'). I've repeated much of what you said but it's so remarkable it's worth repeating!

    @betomatic

okay, that goes sum way to helping me understand....its still dumb as SHIIIIIIIT !!!!....but i can see wat perspective they are coming from.
personally i cudnt give 2 shiiits whether or not a bet is seen as being "square" or otherwise(i mean seriously thats the type of thinking college gambler adopts, right??),so long as the damn thing wins........as we've both just pointed out plainly and clearly,IT PAYS THE SAME and has the same chances of hitting..basic fu.kken maths/probability tells ya that.

and as you say theres plenty and plenty of "surefire" ML locks that go down in flames all day every day.....anyone who doubts that just try and parlay moneylines in the nba a few times and see how your sanity is at the end of the week.

I can't tell you how much I've profited concentrating solely on the NFL and CFB Melos and leaving the NBA in the dust. It's worth your time to learn a new capping trade. The NBA is by far the hardest league to cap. After my success in football and seeing my bankroll grow instead of stagnate or plummet with the NBA, I've realized that.

dude, you dont have to convince me...that leagues lines are a mystery wrapped inside an enigma hiding underneath a riddle.just cannot know who the feck is going to show up on any given nite(well, except for the warriors who are breaking all the rules and actually playing hard and well almost every game).......there is no sane, logical reason to bet that league in regular season buts its sooo hard to break the addiction of a lifetime betting on ya favourite sport, hehe.

I did it Melos! I'm telling you, the NBA is waste of time. And shortly the Warriors ridiculous ATS record will regress. I am surprised at how ridiculously bad tthe Sixers are ATS but they just brought in D'Antoni so even that record should get better.

Imagine how great capping the NBA would be if there was a week between games. That's exactly how th NFL is obviously!

    16-3 Vikes 2nd Q

Manning 5-13 77 yards and 2 INT. And it's not even halftime.

But several posters here believe the team would rally around the ODB suspension. And other quotes like "Here comes Eli". Ok....

If you have the Giants +6.5 your only chance is to backdoor the number and that chance has moved from slim to virtually none because as stated in the OP, the Giants aren't winning this game and the cover has become a joke at this point.

THE NFL is fundamentally different than the NBA folks. LBJ can sit on the Cavs and those players can rally and beat anyone, even the Warriors! The NFL is a different game where team chemistry among the 5 players on the court mean a lot. Football, with offenses and defenses and 11 guys on the field for each damper such rallies, if not make them totally nonexistent, and offers little chance for players to step up when a major one sits (but it does seem to happen with some QB's I will say that).

In fact it's a bit embarrassing I teased these games. But that's what losing a 35-7 lead will do to a psyche. Still, the Bills game was a lot closer than the final score and I feared that spread more than this one.

Anyone who has the Giants ML, rip that ticket up and burn the pieces.

Anyone who has the Giants +6.5, hit the sack. This is another Eli debacle game and I know you know what that is.  Your goose is cooked more than the roast beast the Grinch served.

    29-3

    Good lord Giants backers...

I feel like this game is just like the pool match between Grady Seasons and Tom Cruise in the Color of Money.

Ya know the one where Cruise is told to dump and Seasons is just mocking him with "the impossible dream" comments when he makes a combo.

Except the Giants aren't dumping. They really are this shi**y.

Hit the sack NY backers. There's only so much of a beating you can bear. Rest up and back them next week with renewed fervor when ODB comes back!

Hold up: it's time for a 'Giants rally round the ODB suspension' Eli stat line!

    7-16 89 yrds 3 INT's

Gosh, so embarrassing I had to sweat the Bills win just to ML this game. Damn you Panthers. What you did to me last week. This was GOY material.

    32-3 now

Is it safe to say there won't be another 28 pt 4th quarter this week?????

    Yeah, I think we're safe.

Giant backers at the Vikes game, set the betting slips ablaze so you can warm your hands in that single degree weather out there! When you're done slap yourself silly for taking the Jints....

Scal, your come backs are superb. Someone attempts to shoot you down, you retort with a random movie reference and witty banter. I don't always agree with your picks, but dam, it's always a good time. Thanks for that.
I always look forward to your posts.

@vic - I'm just glad you saw, appreciated and remembered some key scenes and lines from Tom Cruise's greatest movie! And what guy doesn't have a good time playing a friendly game of pocket billiards.

Thus, a 17-9 record (roughly 65% or thereabout) would be exceeding break even by a solid 10% plus. That's pretty darn good. But guys like MYSCHICT would rather belittle someone else's win rather than do some actual MATH. That might give him a headache!

A point to add - the scoring nature of NBA is such that there is no equivalent to a pick six or an int. And in general basketball is more of a team game. That is to say, if you have strong Intel that say a QB will have a shocker then you are way ahead. In NBA a team member may step up. In football it cannot happen

Having said all that, why on earth were Portland +350 at Sac today? Why? Even I saw this as a value bet not to pass up!
