Why because black qbs aren't drafted first overall. There have been 3 black qbs and 6 white qbs in the last 10 years before this draft. Think your reaching

I don't want to call anyone stupid ... but I really hate it when someone come out of the blue making extremely racist statement without solid evidences
I am a fan of RG, not so much of Luck. But look at the current record
Colts: 4-3 Redskine: 3-5
Need I say more?

No, Luck was the safer pick at the time because the offense they run in Stanford vs Baylor and RGIII is more injury-prone with his style of play. He also had injury issue in college.

out of curiosity, how can you NOT be a fan of Luck. Kid does everything right. He's only played 7 games.
Barring the black/white thing (which is fucking stupid because the NFL is the ultimate meritocracy), the argument over which of these guys is "better" is a waste of breath. Let's have this discussion after they've played a while. And still...
After all these years, we could still have a discussion over who was better pick Eli Manning (1st) or Big Ben (11th). Different guys, different teams. Both successful.
It's a big league. There's room for both guys. Hope they both turn out. Both have the skill.

Luck was playing for a big school, great coach. He got all the hype and he was destined to be #1. RGIII is the hot, exciting QB coming out of a smaller school. I root for both to be successful but does not mean I am a fan of both. I might gradually become his fan but not now. If the Colts and Skins games are on TV, I know I will watch the Redskins because of RGIII. No, I am not a Redskins fan. I am a fan of RGIII for his exciting approach to the game help me enjoy the game even more.

Dude, Why do you keep stirring up the shit like this? Last season, I recall you making a big deal of the Tim Tebow and some Christian Crusade crap. Now, here you are again trying to make Luck vs RGIII a racial issue. Please do me a favor. Put your head in a toilet and flush it. Thanks in advance.

I am commenting on the culture of the NFL QB. I am disappointed RG III did not go first. I wonder if it is not because of the stereotype of his skin. I am opening a discussion on this. Trust me, I am not a racist.
After watching these two kids play, to me, RG III is so much better. I agree they are both great and time will tell but for me, if I was drafting number 1, RG III, hands down.
He is Luck with wheels. The only thing I think Luck has on him is size and the decrease chance of injury. One man's view.

Unless we can bet on this, why the hell is this a topic in these forums? If RGIII was white and he was BETTER THAN LUCK (which he is not) he would have been taken in the first round. Racism is for English football. The NFL is far too competitive, with too many highly skilled athletes for people to choose their players based on race.

Im a big fan of RG3, however if you look closer at the numbers you will see Luck is having a better year,. better QBR and better team record. Also, he will more than likely have the longer career and more impact in terms of W/L's.
With that said Luck>RG3

Actually, YOU are the one making this about race. So yes, you are a racist. It's laughable to say that the Colts picked Luck because he was white. Or they didn't pick RGIII because he was black. The NFL is about results, and the Colts believed that Luck was the most ready of all of the college QBs and he gave the Colts the best chance to get back to being a top team. Is that a slight at RGIII? Not in the least. But to make it about race at this stage, says more about you than it does about anyone else.
We get it - RGIII is the more exciting QB to watch because on any play he could go 80 yards or unleash a bomb. And maybe RGIII will have the better career. And maybe he won't. Luck joined a FAR inferior team to the one that RGIII joined and if you look at the ADVANCED passing metrics, Luck is having the better season. I'm not going to put all the stats here - if you want to be objective, do some research. But while RGIII's passing stats look great, the FACT is, he leads the league by a LONG shot in passes that are completed behind the line of scrimmage, and he also has a HUGE benefit in YAC over Luck. And all Luck does is win - with a worse team.
I wonder if people would brand Luck more exciting if he was black. No, wait, that would make me no better than the thread starter... (mine was a joke, sadly Crash was serious)
I hope both QBs go on to hall of fame careers. But the short answer is - the Colts selected the QB they thought was going to get them back to the promised land. End of thread.

You should be a Luck fan too. He's going to be great. I'm a Giants fan with no dog in this fight.
Barring injury both of these QB's will be studs.
