Everyone on Tampa Bay? Fade the public

The Buccaneers ride an eight-game winning streak and they’ve got almost everyone back from their Super Bowl-winning team. The Cowboys have lots of variables that make them exciting for this opening spot, beginning with Dak Prescott and the offensive line being healthy. There also is speed from the receivers and a trimmer, seemingly more focused Ezekiel Elliott. But I believe the defense will be vastly improved after allowing a franchise record for most points scored in 2020. Take the points with the Cowboys.(sportsline)

 Zack Martin out but the Cowboys strength over the years has been their offensive line, always have had good depth and good players. They'll be tested tonight but don't expect an O-line repeat performance that we saw from the Chiefs mangled O line in the Superbowl.

The loss of Zack Martin likely means the Cowboys are going to give up the idea of establishing the run against this Tampa Bay defense. The exaggerated number of throwing plays should help the pace of play and preserve the game clock enough to see a potential shootout if Dallas is remotely close to form before Dak's injury. I'm going to trust that both teams want to show case on Thursday night. 

So, thinking taking the OVER 51 1/2...

 You may want to check the forum to see who everyone is picking tonight. I see Dallas picks around 3-1 so far.

 The spread.com, 55% of bets on TB while clearly the majority of the money currently is on the Bucs as the line has gone from -6.5 to  -9. Books will clean house on a Dallas win or any loss less than 6.

action network has... 55% tampa, 45% dallas currently. hardly everyone is on tampa now.

the smart cookies took tampa early, line goes up. the percieved value now is on the hard knock cowboys getting more than a TD and maybe closer to a TD and a FG by closing. people are rooting for dak for a successful comeback plus its america team they're always overvalued. that's my opinion. 

seriously : the line open at -6 and now around -9.5 to -10. The public playing Tampa bay.

-6 is the test line or the soft line. the pros help shape the line early.  Bucs were getting 70% of the action at -6, -6.5 and as soon as the line crossed over -7.0 then the action started coming in on Cowboys. why does line continues to go up while the action on Bucs is going down, now at 55%. how can you be so certain the public is on Tampa

 There are sum big bets on Tampa what some might call "sharp money", the big bettors, but you know that. Take them out of the equation the "public" money appears to be relatively close, favoring  the Bucs but not by a drastic amount. This is more for those who may not understand how this works. Books are cheering for Dallas make no mistake about that.

As usual, people overrating Dallas and overrating Dak who has a bum ankle and a bum shoulder/lat. I think Fanduel or Draftkings has a Dallas +22.5 bet promo tonight. These promo bets actually miss more often than you might think.

Everyone and their dog is going to tease TB down to near a pk. Teasers always seem so easy but one side of the teaser usually loses. Either Dallas wins straight up or the total goes way over or under.
