Cam newton is the real deal, remember leading auburn to a national championship his first year that's hard to do. first start as pro throwing over 400 yards unbelievable and 1 rushing and 2 passing tds,just wish i had him on my fantasy team today!

Easy crowing anyone.

The Cards defense is bad news, they werent pressuring him at all.

He had some good throws, some really bad ones (not seeing the open receiver to tie the game) and this game is not a real measure of the talent he will face through the season.

Cards secondary is near the worst in the league and has been for years.

For a rookie in his first game throwing for 400+ yards is phenomenal no one can deny that but hes on a bad team(facing a bad team) and the Cards secondary sucks.Lets give the fella few weeks and see how he does

[/Quote     But he did what a good QB should do to a bad defense he GASHED them.. Sure not the Ravens but he aint playing the Ravens every week either... Bottom line just watching him look off DB's and standing tall vs   the rush  during that game showed to anyone with an eye for talent that the NFL is not to "big" for this kid.. He is raw and will hit some hard times but please that was a NFL team out on that field not the best one but a NFL team and he owned them.. Kid has a head on his shoulders and mad talent.. Bust... Dont think so.. Russell ... Dude never had a game like that vs ANY bad team.. .... bad call.. Happens to all of us...

how can you say he's a bust after 1 game when he torched zone for over 400 yards... whens the last time a rookie in his first game put up those numbers in his first game

Nah, I don't buy it.

Conventional wisdom says when there's a huge controversial dark cloud hanging over a team, it translates to future failure and loss.
Cam Newton's controversial problems publicized last year were shed like water from a duck's back. His team rolls to the BCS title game.
Conventional wisdom says the Heisman Trophy winner's team will lose in the title game...works most of the time. Except this last time with Cam....
Conventional wisdom warrants an expectation of a rough rookie debut. Cam set new records....
All this young man keeps doing is proving his haters absolutely wrong.
I have to give this very special athlete credit for truly amazing achievements, already!  There is no doubt in my mind his career is far from over.

not a fan of cam at all......but damn that record is impressive....does anyone remember how horrible peyton was at the beginning of his career??????cam is gonna have some horrible games....horrible....lets just see if he can take the heat when things are bad
