Brady not only drove them with 1:21 left to beat the Rams but he did it again two years later, driving the Patriots with 1:08 left to win the SB again

Um, he never threw a winning touchdown pass.

So ask yourself, which is more impressive, driving 40 yards for a FG or driving 80+ and throwing a winning TD?

being a long time steeler fan, a couple of observations:
 
(1)yes QB's like peyton and brady have better stats than ben and always will.  The manin diff btw them is a guy like Ben can carry his team to victory.  Ben has 19 game winning drives since 2004 the most in the nfl.
 
(2) the general perception is that Ben is helped by a great defense and great running game.  Wrong,  The running game has been below avg at best for several years now.  Even when willie was running well, he led the league in carries for zero or less yds.  that coupled with perhaps the worst OC in the business Bruce Arians repeatedly leaves ben in 3rd and long situations with a substandard OL.  i would like to see how peyton or bradys stats
look if they had to repeatedly face 3rd and long because their idiot
OC has the most vanilla gameplan ever and keeps running the same stupid running plays into the mouth of the defense that gain
nothing and all this with a weak OL.
 
So to summarize, Ben will never have the stats or rating of a Brady or Peyton.  The biggest diff is Ben can make plays no one else can and can manufacture points by himself.  He is the premier big game QB right now.  Brady and Peyton are greats QB's, but their sucess is somewhat related to their superior coaching/systems they play in.

So based on your analysis...

Tom Brady won 3 Superbowls (1 of which was courtesy of the tuck rule) in his first five years. In the last three years, he has won JACKSHIT with numerous flops and disappointment. So based on your analysis, Tom Brady has become a worse player. Pure Genius.

And I guess Eli Manning is better than Peyton Manning  too at that juncture of their careers.



There is no quarterback in the league (perhaps McNabb) that could have stayed in the pocket that long to pull off the shit that Ben did (yesterday). Brady with his two left foot wouldn't have last past half time with that OL. Big Ben is a unique talent. I have NEVER seen a quarterback perform so well under duress. I cant recall the last time Brady performed well when he's pressured. Even Peyton looks vulnerable under heavy pass rush.

The sick thing is he's only going to get BETTER. with better pass protection, his stats can only go higher. In 2007 (decent pass protection), his passer rating was 104.1. Brady didn't even break the 100 mark until 2007 AND that was with the aid of Randy Moss.

you clearly stated "first five years".  Tuck rule or not, he had 3 rings in 5 years.  Ben has 2.  We're not discussing anything after the first five because you clearly stated the point of the thread was first five years.
 
Therefore, 5 years in to their career, Tom wins.

and roethlisberger won his first super bowl under a ton of scrutiny because the refs absolutely ruined that game..if it weren't for the many of TD's taken back because of horrible calls by the referees the steelers would've never won super bowl XL

and congrats on 2 of the least viewed super bowls of all time because no one gives a shit about the steelers

How in the world could anyone compare these two qbs? Tom Brady without a doubt is a better qb than BB. BB has a gift for buying time and I won't deny that. I'm just wondering if Pitt has a defined pass play or if he says in the huddle "Pass Play on 2". Everyone just goes out and he runs around for a while and hits someone. This is a foolish thread just like most Steeler fans post.

I love Big Ben, I think he is easily top 3-4 QB's in the game but lets not get carried away, Tom Brady is still better.

If Brady was healthy this year he might have gotten his 4th....but Ben would NOT have gotten his second ring cuz they wouldnt have been in the SB......

Congrats on the win BB, but this in no way makes him a better QB than Brady. Who knows? Maybe BB has a chance to improve next year, cause Brady might not play 2009/2010 season due to the knee injury? We'll see...When's the new schedule come out anyway?

brady is definitely gonna be back next season they're throwing trade talks around for cassel again and they say that brady is ahead of schedule to return now

 Are you joking? How can you compare an eight year career versus a five year career? Look at their stats (5 years versus 5 years),how can you argue that Brady is better than BB based on their first five years. At best it's a wash. In his first five years, Brady didn't even sniff triple digits quarterback rating. Ben has had quarterback rating of 98,98,104 in five year.

The stunning stats is that Brady has been sacked 203 times in 8 years, Ben has been sacked 192 times in 5 years. Part of that is due to Ben holding the ball longer to makes play but is also due to a porous OL. Brady receives AWESOME protection from his OL.  The only quarterback that comes close to such protection is Dan Marino.

Do you know how many quarterbacks have better career stats than Brady? A bunch. Based on those stats you listed.. Peyton Manning is 2x the player that Brady is. Manning is great but is he far and above Brady?... (even a diehard Manning fan would say no).
