Good thing you have a computer and stats, you clearly do not watch the NFL.
Giants have depended on the big play all year and will continue to thrive and win off of it. I love how you just write there offense off of being hot because they have been making big plays. Fucking hilarious. Not to mention Atl will let these plays happen because their secondary is horrible. You beat Atlanta by throwing on them not running so Eli will be throwing 40-50 times today, with that happening I love the chances of the big play.
While I will agree that the G-Men are a average team so is Atlanta. But all year Atlanta is yet to have a quality win where they go in and take care of business against a quality oppenent. Not at home or on the road and they suck on the road. Atl is actually garbage this year playing in a league where most teams are just average.
G-men take care of business and they do it quickly with the big play and they do it often.
They beat your Lions on the road this year, bro.

I love your write-up. But Mike Smith doesn't all of sudden become a genius. I have seen many Atlanta games this year and I am just not convinced this guy is good under pressure nor do I think he is much of a coach. Same line of thinking goes for qb Matt Ryan. He struggles under pressure. Until you win a playoff game you still haven't won a playoff game. Its not as easy as it seems. Ask Marvin Lewis.
You have to throw out last weeks game vs Tampa. Tampa quit playing football three weeks prior to this game. In what I considered to be the biggest game of the year for the Falcons (Saints MNF) they came out with an awful game plan. The only way they could have beaten the saints was to shorten the game. Instead they came out and tried to run with the Saints.
I love the way the Giants are playing right now. Say what you will about Coughlin but he does know how to prepare a team for post season. There is something to be said about peaking at the right time. Just think he has them believing. The pass rush will force the falcons into some turnovers. Eli when given a short field can put up points. If the falcons fall behind early doubt will take over Matt Ryan. That is when the Giants will really get after him. Coughlin and the giants know this. Look for them to find ways to get up early by way of the big play. Falcons will give up big plays. I actually think Nicks will have a huge game. Bradshaw and Jacobs are starting to click again. This is a dangerous team. Atanta needs to run the ball and I am not sure Smith has the patience to stick to a game plan that actually makes sense.

all due respect--I just have to strongly disagree with you on many fronts. Coughlin teams choke in the post season. He had one run in a playoff season, and got SUPER lucky to beat the Patriots.... one play stands out that 99 of 100 times would have went incomplete and the Pats would of had a perfect season....if not for that one season he would be 0-3 in in playoffs in 7 yrs with the the G's.... look at last season vs Philly, how can you say that is a 'prepared team'... his kicker did the exact thing he most needed to avoid.... I think Mike Smith makes some of the best last season adjustments in the NFL... he just did not have the team to do it with... I don't think he has the team to go deep this season either (in fact he just doesn't), but Coughlin's crew is only in the post season b/c Mark Sanchez was just that bad in their game...Giant's did not win that game, Sanchez lost it..... thanks for your opinion though....peace

I respect your opinion. Look at Mike Smith in big games and his QB they really don't perform well. They were lucky to beat the Panthers who play very poor defense. The Saints just killed them. Packers last year at home made them look silly. They haven't beaten anyone that is a shit. The big games this year they laid an egg. Including the opener in Chicago and I know if was first game but my god you are coming off a terrible playoff lose and you have the whole off season to stew about it and that is the way you start the season 2-3. Big games Smith looks ill prepared. What adjustments do you speak of? Bottom Line Matt Ryan has never won a playoff game. This is a Qb driven League. Historically go back an look at the first half of the season when Ryan is pressured he does not handle it well. That is a fact that goes back to last year as well. I think the Giants are well aware of that. Whatever you want to call it Luck or good play Eli has a ring.
Strength of schedule Giants are 6th the Falcons 21st. The only quality win was Lions. otherwise they beat no one. 10 wins 2 came against teams with winning records. Two! They should have lost the Panther game. Giants momentum down the stretch bad play by sanchez or not. You still had to win the game. Dome team outside (regardless of weather).
Plus, The giants have two defensive lineman who have really cool facemasks that make them look like they were in battlestar galactica, and any time you can reference a tv show from your youth with gambling purposes, your MUST capitalize on it. JOKE LOL.
Give the points. Giants 27 Falcons 17

Ok, well they won by 7. That is my point they cant pull away against decent teams or any teams for that matter and they usually are playing from behind. Keeping Eli and company in this game is sure ways of losing. And I just thin Eli will take the lead early.

Great write up. Love the research you do and really appreciate it on the mornings that I don't have time to do it myself! Was leaning this way and I think you confirmed it for me. Best of luck!

Nice write-up.... i read in another post that Grimes is out..... how does that affect your opinion? your write-up about the flacons pass defense was, to paraphrase: "Ryan will control the ball and keep eli off the field".... but guess what, he won't keep eli off the field for 60 minutes!.... you seem to be ignoring a big hole in the falcons defense to support your pick

I tried to provide some insight on the poor decisions this guy makes. Smith is awful. Ryan isn't any better. This was a no brainer. Thoughts on Denver/Pitt. I have a feeling Denver scores some to make this close. I like Pitt defense for a score. Thinking over.

This in not a hater response. This just goes to show you no matter how much time, effort, and logic you use, you just can't cap a DUMB FUCK COACH.
Love your write ups KS..always informative and probably the best ones on covers.
..... there are alot of things you can't cap.... there is more randomness and luck in a sporting event than fans and gamblers like to admit.... there is a reason even the best of the best handicappers are lucky to break 60% betting against the spread.
